The Clermont Soil & Water Conservation District is now taking orders for its annual Conservation Plant Sale. The district offers many native trees, and this year it’s “going nuts,” offering shagbark hickories and 
hardy pecans for the first time. Both trees produce edible nuts for wildlife and people. The district is also selling native bushes and perennials to enhance landscapes, as well as rain barrels to collect water for gardens.
Most of the tree and shrub seedlings are between 12 inches and 3 feet tall. They will be bare-rooted with the roots dipped in a root preservative and wrapped to keep them from drying out. Most packets will be in a bag about the size of a grocery bag and can easily be placed in your car for pickup.
An order form can be obtained at www.clermontswcd.org, or by calling 513-732-7075 ext. 2. Orders need to be placed by April 4. Plants must be picked up from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville.
