A Press Release from the Loveland School District

The Loveland City School District offers condolences to the family of deceased Cincinnati Police Officer Sonny Kim – a Loveland parent who passed away Friday, June 19, in the line of duty. The district will have counseling services available from 9 a.m. until noon Monday, June 22, at Loveland High School for any students in need.

“Our hearts are simply broken over this devastating loss,” said Loveland Superintendent Chad Hilliker. “Officer Kim was a valued member of our community, and we collectively feel the grief over his tragic passing. Even though we are out of school for the year, we wanted to offer our students counseling services as they work through their grief. This is a moment when the entire Tiger Family needs to band together to support Officer Kim’s family and each other.”

Officer Kim leaves behind three students in the Loveland City School District.

A vigil to honor Officer Kim is scheduled to take place at Loveland Middle School (LMS) 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20, outside the building at the flag pole. The community is welcome to attend this gathering.
