Before you toss old bank records, tax statements and all those credit card offers you receive into the recycling bin, take a moment and put the sensitive documents in a bag or box and circle May 2, 2015 on your calendar.

The City of Milford and Cintas Document Management will be sponsoring a free community shred day on May 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. in the Municipal Building parking lot located at 745 Center Street.

“Safely discarding documents that contain personal identifiers is one of the best ways to prevent identity theft” said Chief Jamey Mills.

This is an excellent opportunity to properly dispose of personal documents and other materials containing sensitive information such as social security numbers and bank account numbers instead of placing the documents in your recycling bin. This service is free to all citizens and businesses in the community.
