LES Mallet Madness student-musicians performed at the annual State of School event in January.

Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Elementary School (LES) has an advanced music ensemble and they have been on tour. Mallet Madness is a fourth-grade percussion ensemble. Selected students arrive before school to practice three days per week.

“They are amazingly talented and I am so proud of the dedication they show each day.” said LES Music Teacher Michele Henn.

Their last performance for the public will be at 6 PM, Wednesday, May 25 in the LES Gym.

“The lessons and opportunities presented in the LES music class encourage creativity, confidence growth, perseverance, focus, non-verbal communication, receiving constructive feedback, collaboration, dedication, and accountability,” said Henn. “These values are so important, and I love being able to introduce or reinforce these values in our music.

“The goal of music education at LES is to make music enjoyable and to show the kids that everyone has a musical gift to offer…even the kids who feel that they do not have musical ability.”
