by Dawn Busalacchi,

I am responding to your editorial entitled “Apparently local governments and schools don’t need to heed the warnings of the Ohio EPA“.

[quote_box_right]I hope parents make the connection between air pollution and asthma in children as they sit idling in their cars at their kids’ schools.[/quote_box_right]Your article was spot on! Thank you for pointing out concrete actions local citizens and governments can take to alleviate air pollution. Instead of adopting an attitude that there is nothing that can be done, you lay out actions that can be taken now. I hope parents make the connection between air pollution and asthma in children as they sit idling in their cars at their kids’ schools. I also hope that when people complain about “big” government, they stop and think that “their” local government has a lot of impact on their quality of life.

Motivating mothers of children to take action at the school level is another powerful tool I hope can be tapped by your commentary.

Please keep up this constructive commentary. If even a small number of folks change behavior, you have accomplished something.
