Loveland, Ohio – The current officers of the Loveland Woman’s club were the hostesses for the last meeting of the group before their summer break. The pot luck luncheon was held on June 14 at the Richardson House at the Loveland Museum.

New officers of the club were announced at the meeting: Linda Williams, President; Pat Furterer, First Vice President; Laurie Gordon, Second Vice President; Patti Kellish, Recording Secretary; Kay Napier, Corresponding Secretary; Vona Bales, Treasurer; Winkie Foster, Historian and Connie Smith, Advisor.

Recipients of the club’s three scholarships were also announced. Josh Carvallano, Maggie Jewett and Makenzie Mercer were each awarded a $2000 scholarship. Josh has been accepted into the International Business program at the University of South Carolina and Maggie will be attending the University of Dayton, studying Biology and Mechanical Engineering. The Viola Phillips Award was presented to Makenzie who will attend Miami University (Ohio) and major in Political Science with plans to attend Law School and one day become a Civil Rights attorney and open a Homeless Shelter. The majority of the funds raised by the woman’s club, which was organized in 1912, go to scholarships for local students.
