“Back to school” – A simple phrase which can elicit emotions ranging from excitement, to relief to, “all ready?!?”. But at L.I.F.E., Loveland Interfaith Effort, food pantry it means the annual Student L.I.F.E. Shop, one of our favorite days.

Throughout the year L.I.F.E. offers support to hundreds of local families who are in need of help, be it a number of programs including monthly groceries or back to school items.  But on August 13th approximately 125 Loveland School students arrived at L.I.F.E and the fun began!  Each registered student received a variety of age appropriate personal care items to help prepare them for the new school year.  As families visited various tables in the fair circuit they received numerous items: a $25 Payless Shoe gift card for each student, all K-4th grade students received new books, Earthshares CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) offered fresh, locally grown organic produce.  The Cincinnati FreeStore was represented as was the Loveland branch of the Cincinnati Public Library.  Sign-up for the school Breakfast Club and/or the Lunch Program was also available. But without a doubt, the biggest hit was the Loveland Spirit wear T-shirts provided for each and every student.

Thank you to the Loveland High School Cross Country Team for their volunteer hours and to all of those who pitched in to make this event possible.  The community spirit in Loveland is alive and well.

Stay tuned for what comes next in L.I.F.E.!
