Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland City School District’s educational leader and the Loveland Police Department’s chief will team up to challenge each other at the upcoming Seth Mitchell HERO 5K Saturday, Oct. 1. ballet-tech-adSuperintendent Chad Hilliker and Chief Sean Rahe will compete to see which leader can boast the best time, while delivering a special message about Tiger Pride in the spirit of the 1997 Loveland High School graduate the 5K honors, Captain Seth Mitchell, who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

“Captain Mitchell embodied what Tiger Pride is all about – care, respect and responsibility – and it is my privilege to be part of this memorial race to honor the life he lived,” said Hilliker. “I have such respect for the Loveland Police Department, and sincerely appreciate the close relationship we enjoy. Chief Rahe and his team cannot be beat – with the exception, of course, of the HERO 5K. I do intend to bring in the best time between the two of us.”

“Seth Mitchell bravely answered Loveland’s call to service,” said Rahe. “I am proud to honor Seth’s legacy of leadership and service, and the Loveland Police Department, in the Seth Mitchell HERO Run. I am also proud to be joining Chad Hilliker on the run. Our agencies work very closely on a variety of community projects, and that is thanks to Chad’s leadership. Chad is a great competitor. I’m certainly the underdog in the race. But everyone likes an underdog. Let’s see what happens.”
