Donald Baker, principal at Milford’s McCormick Elementary, and the students of the after-school McCormickFest 5K training club. Students and teachers, under the direction of teachers Mrs. Kolady and Tillson, have begun training for the annual fundraising event that will be held on September 24 at Miami Meadows Park in Miami Township. More event information is available at www.McCormickPTO.com. On-site registration for the 5K Run and 2.9K Family Fun Walk begins at 3pm. The Run and Walk begin at 4pm, and a free Festival will be open to the public from 4-6:30pm.

The McCormick Elementary PTO has been busy planning the fourth annual McCormickFest, a 5K Run / 2.9 K Walk / Festival to kick off the school year. The event will be held on Saturday, September 24 at Miami Meadows Park, located at 1546 St. Rt. 131 in Miami Township.  On-site registration for the 5K Run and 2.9K Family Fun Walk begins at 3pm.  The Run and Walk begin at 4 PM, and a free Festival will be open to the public from 4-6:30 PM.

The McCormickFest run and walk follows the path through the Miami Township Park. Admission to the family-friendly festival is free and features a food truck rally, games and prizes, inflatables, music, and a local business showcase.

The event is the PTO’s primary fundraiser, with profits going towards technology updates, educational programs, recreational additions, and minor building improvements at McCormick Elementary.
