Sixth Annual Tomato Tasting Contest

What better way to celebrate National Farmers’ Market Week than to pick the best tomato and cherry tomato at the Loveland Farmers’ Market! Tasting will take place between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. All customers (all ages) are invited to award two vendors braggin’ rights! We’ll share your choice with you after you pick your winner so that you can visit that vendor and buy some tomatoes and other great veggies.

VEGGIES, FRUITS, AND POTTED PLANTS FOR YOUR GARDEN

Can-du Farm – Bethel
Summers bounty is upon us. We should have kale, sweet onions, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, bell peppers, some spicy peppers, lettuce and lots of potted basil. See you at the market.

Donn Madra Farm – Goshen
Seasonal fruits and vegetables

Grailville/Earth-Shares CSA – Loveland
Grailville/Earth-Shares will bring organically certified lettuce (limited amount), curly kale, zucchini, some summer squash, eggplant, peppers, green beans, celery, onions and basil as well as both hybrid and heirloom tomatoes.

Irons Fruit Farm – Lebanon
We will have our pies, donuts, jams and jellies and apple butter. We will have tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers & beans. Unfortunately, blueberries are done for the season.

Jaybird Farms – Sardinia
Jaybird Farms will have LOTS of sprouts for you to use in salads or on sandwiches, or put some in your smoothies for an extra health benefit.   We will also have Squash and zucchini, and a few RED tomatoes, as well as herb plants. fresh brown eggs from our chickens. We will also have our fabulous lavender products, jams and jellies and our new herbal bug spray, “Buzz Off”!   www.jaybirdfarms.com

Jessie’s Garden – Oregonia
Jessie’s Garden will have Colorful Cherry Tomatoes, Ground Cherries (if you haven’t heard of these come check them out – sweet tasting), Okra, summer squash and Fresh Herbs.

Rice Family Harvest – Oregonia
Peaches, blueberries, tomatoes- great for that BLT, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, small salad cucumbers, onions, spinach, kale, green beans (Blue Lakes), and fingers crossed for our first sweet corn!

Salatin’s Fruit Farm – Moore’s Hill, Indiana
Candy onions, new potatoes, tomatoes, large zucchini for bread, peaches, plums and more.

Scott Farms – Burlington, KY
We should have the following produce — Sweet Corn, SOME tomatoes, fresh peaches, new potatoes, green beans (stringless and 1/2 runners), sweet onions, cucumbers, eggplant, hot and sweet peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatillo, and anything else that I may have forgotten. See you Tuesday.

Wittmeyer White Oak Farm – Georgetown
Wittmeyer White Oak Valley Farm will be at market with our summer squash pizza crusts and hot banana pepper mustard.  We are harvesting pickling and traditional cucumbers, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, and a few roma beans.

At the market the first, third, and fifth Tuesdays.  Offering a wide variety of cheeses, including a limited number of aged (sharp) and raw milk cheeses. Cows are 100% grass-fed and certified organic. Stop by for a taste!

KIDS’ PATCH – Back by popular demand . . . .
I SPY – Come find the “hidden” items each week. This month you will search for three tomatoes. Start you venture at the Market Information/Kids’ Patch Booth. After finding the 3 tomatoes, return to the Kids’ Patch Booth to receive a market buck.  Frequent Shopper Program – Will you be a loyal Loveland Farmers’ Market customer? Each time you visit the market, stop by the Kids’ Patch and we will put a sticker on your Loyalty Card. We will keep your card at the booth. For every 5 stickers you receive, you will get a one dollar market buck. Your market bucks are good at any vendor anytime. This week, look for the Kids’ Patch next to the Credit/SNAP booth.

This year, we once again will accept SNAP/EBT and credit/debit cards at the market credit booth next to the market information booth. We’ll swipe your card, issue you wooden coins, and away you shop! For SNAP/EBT customers, we are participating again in Produce Perks which allows you to receive up to $10 in matching funds free to purchase more produce.
