Loveland, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Health has reported that last week there were 37 residents and 11 staff members with COVID 19 at the Loveland Health Care Center (LHCC). The cumulative case report reveals 39 residents and 21 staff members have had the virus. Numbers on deaths at the facility at 501 North Second Street (St. Rt. 48) are not available however Loveland Magazine has received an uncorroborated report of one death.

The person answering the phone at the facility said she could not comment on the COVID 19 cases and said to call their corporate office, Health Care Management Group. She abruptly hung up the phone while being asked the number of patient beds at the nursing home.

MediCare.gov says there are 99 “certified beds” at the nursing home.

Although LHCC is located in Warren County, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) lists data for the facility in their reports of COVID 19 cases in the Hamilton County data.

Warren County Health did not reply to our request for information.

Mike Samet the Public Information Officer for Hamilton County Public Health said he was not personally aware of the cases at LHCC until contacted by Loveland Magazine and in a phone conversation confirmed the ODH numbers.

In a follow-up to our conversation, Samet replied via email saying, “Nursing homes in Ohio are licensed and inspected by the Ohio Department of Health. We (HCPH) inspect food service operations for nursing homes in our jurisdiction.”

The Loveland facility had been working closely with the Warren County Health Department for some time. After it was discovered that they were actually in our jurisdiction (in early September), we began working with the facility on COVID-19 issues, in addition to our work with their food services. Since we began working with them, we have provided considerable material on infection control and screening processes as well as education on COVID. In addition, the facility took part in an infection control study with the Ohio Department of Health.

Loveland Magazine is awaiting an email response to several questions from the owners of LHCC. Their spokesperson, Greg Miller would not answer questions on the phone however requested that our questions be put into an email and said that he would respond today. Loveland Magazine will update this story when we receive his response.

Health Care Management Group is located at 12500 Reed Hartman Highway.

There is no immediately available COVID 19 data for the City of Loveland as a whole. ZIP Code data and data for Hamilton County residents of the city are available, however, Loveland is in three counties, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren.

MediCare.gov gives LHCC an “Above Average” overall rating. Their staffing level is rated “Much below average”. Their Quality of resident care rating is, “Much above average”.
