Your input is very important to the success of this project, so we are asking you to complete our survey. And, we need to hear from you even if you don’t attend our concerts very often or at all.

The Butterfly Walk & 5K for pediatric cancer research
A celebration of love and support of children
The Butterfly Walk & 5K attracts more than 1500 families with young children every year. This event raises money for pediatric cancer research all the while providing support and awareness to children and families currently fighting this disease and to remember loved ones who have lost their battle.

Inspired by the spirit of one child’s fight with cancer, a community of friends has come together to help spread awareness and to support families facing similar battles. The Butterfly Walk and Fun Festival will bring together people and businesses who want to share in the celebration of love and support of children. Similar to how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, that transformation is symbolic of a child’s development into an adult. This is something not all children with cancer have the chance to experience. But together, we can make a difference. Every day physicians are fighting to help children with cancer live another day. Curing childhood cancer is not a battle won overnight. But with the support of people like YOU, together we can help further the research towards treating and curing this disease, forever.Registration Forms

The Rat Race is on April 25th

Rat Race on April 25th
This event will benefit not only CancerFree KIDS but also the Pamela Joy Ripp Foundation and Girls on the Run of Greater Cincinnati.
What: The Rat Race 5k Fitness Walk and 5k/10k Run

The Rat Race 5K Fitness Walk and 5K/10K Run is a fun event the whole family can share while raising funds to benefit these wonderful local charities: CancerFree Kids, Pamela Joy Ripp Foundation and Girls on the Run of Greater Cincinnati.
The first 600 participants registered by April 5th will receive a wicking shirt with the famous “Rat Race” signature logo. Pre-registrants 601+ will receive a standard cotton t-shirt with the “Rat Race” logo while male/female run finishers receive top awards. (Race Details)
Family and friends are welcome to cheer participants along the course! Kids’ activities will be available before and during the race, so feel free to bring the kids along!
Immediately following the race will be a post-event party with refreshments, beer, food, live music entertainment, and a Health Expo. Live Music will be provide by The Low Country Boil.
Pre-registered participants are eligible to win door prizes – must be present to win! Non-race attendees may purchase entry into the post-race party ($20 for adults and $5 for children under 10). A driver’s license will be required for all party attendees who wish to drink beer.

Loveland Spring brush pick-up schedule
Brush must be placed at the curb no later than Sunday night
Loveland, Oh. – The spring brush pick-up program will begin on Monday, March 16, and will run for five weeks. Brush must be placed at the curb no later than Sunday night of the scheduled week of each collection. The following will be our schedule for brush pick-up:
Week of March 16 Area of the City that has a Monday trash pick-up.
Week of March 23 Area of the City that has a Tuesday trash pick-up.
Week of March 30 Area of the City that has a Wednesday trash pick-up.
Week of April 6 Area of the City that has a Thursday trash pick-up.
Week of April 13 Area of the City that has a Friday trash pick-up.
The following are guidelines established for the brush pick-up program:
- Limbs cannot exceed 10” in diameter at the cut section.
- Small twigs and sticks should be bundled with twine in bundles 12” in diameter. Twigs or sticks can also be placed in a container at the curb, but no other yard waste should be in the containers. Please, no loose piles of sticks and debris.
- Limbs should be placed at the curb with the cut section facing the street and all limbs should be facing the same direction. This makes it easier and faster to handle.
- Brush must be placed at the curb or edge of roadway. Do NOT place brush in the roadway, gutter, ditches, or on sidewalks. Do NOT block fire hydrants.
- No leaves, pine needles, grass clippings, or other yard waste will be collected.
Any material not meeting these requirements cannot be collected and will be left at the curb.
Wood chips will be available again this year at the Public Works Department, 10980 Loveland-Madeira Road. Anyone in the City who would like a full load of wood chips should contact Ann Gott at 513-707-1439.
Outside the regular pick-up schedule, residents are encouraged to come to City Hall to get a free voucher to drop off any yard waste to Evans Landscaping. The City also offers a second brush pick-up in the fall in addition to leaf collection.

Deadline today to register for your “Parents Night Out”
Today is the last day to turn in your registration and payment for the Primary Playground Project Parent Night Out. The Parent Night Out will take place next Friday, March 20th at 5:30-8:30 PM.

The Primary Playground Project is hosting its first fundraising opportunity – a Parents’ Night Out. This is open to all Loveland families.Parents can enjoy a night out on Friday, March 20, while kids enjoy fun filled super-hero themed activities at the Loveland Primary School under the supervision of teachers.

Our Story
Although Loveland Ohio was named after the first Postmaster and early shopkeeper James Loveland, the area’s first settler was Colonel Thomas Paxton. Born in Pennsylvania in 1739, Paxton moved to Kentucky in 1790. After having the opportunity to observe the beauty of the Little Miami River landscape, Paxton travelled North and in 1795 settled in the area now known as Loveland.
During the Revolutionary War, Thomas Paxton served as Lieutenant Colonel of the Second Battalion of the Bedford County Militia. In 1777, Thomas Paxton ate Christmas dinner at Valley Forge with General George Washington and other illustrious military personnel, such as the Marquis de Lafayette and Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Paxton is acknowledged for being the first to build a log cabin in the area. He died in 1813 and was buried in the family graveyard on the farm where he built his first cabin.
Thirty-five years later, Colonel William Ramsey, a land speculator, laid out the town of Paxton, which was partially bordered by the Little Miami Railroad. A few years later, Ramsey laid out the town of Loveland, which adjoined the town of Paxton. Due to residents frequent stops at James Loveland’s General Store, the name Loveland caught on and in 1863, Paxton officially became Loveland and new boundaries were established.
Paxton’s Grill is housed in one of Loveland’s oldest buildings, built approximately the same time that the town of Paxton became Loveland. In January 2000, a few locals saw the need for a family friendly establishment and purchased this historic building with the goal of providing good food at reasonable prices in a comfortable setting.
We welcome you to Paxton’s Grill and are proud to pay homage to Thomas Paxton and his early contributions to what is now called the Historic Loveland District.
