Give the gift of life and show off your blood donor pride when you donate blood at a local Hoxworth Blood Center on Dec. 24 or 26.
All donors at Hoxworth Neighborhood Centers on Monday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 26 will receive a limited-edition “DONOR” long sleeved t – shirt.
“Patients in over 30 area hospitals will still need blood in the days before and after Christmas, and we need donors to roll up a sleeve and fill that need,” said. Alecia Lipton, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. “And to say thank you, we’re giving donors a limited-edition t-shirt that broadcasts their commitment to be a lifesaver!”
Lipton noted that December and January tend to be a trying time for blood centers across the country, as holidays, vacations and flu season can all impact donor turnout.
Hoxworth operates seven Neighborhood Donor Centers across the Tri-State area. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Donors can schedule appointments by calling (513) 451-0910 or by scheduling online at www.hoxworth.org.
