During a news briefing at the scene, Savalas Kidd, Assistant Special Agent in Charge with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) said, “The report that Charles Crawford filed indicating that Kaylynn had been abducted from the Dollar General was fabricated. Earlier, at a 2 PM news conference, Loveland Police Chief, Sean Rahe said, “Everyone’s priority right now is to find Kaylynn and return her to her family.” After the body was found he said, “This is clearly not the outcome we were hoping and praying for today. We would like to offer our sympathies to Kaylynn’s family. The investigation is ongoing. My office and BCI will work towards justice for this innocent victim.”
Rahe also said he was very grateful to the members of the community who took time to call in tips and, “helped keep an eye out for Kaylynn.”
Although many questions remain, investigators did not take any questions.
