A beloved fairy tale gets a different ending when one class combines science, technology, engineering and math with creative writing!
Loveland, Ohio – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) lessons were a bit magical in Jennifer Hiltonās second grade class at Loveland Primary School (LPS). The class used Jack and the Beanstalk to design parachutes to help āJackā get safely back down to the ground.
āThis was an excellent incorporation of language arts with our STEM studies,ā said Hilton. āOur students were tasked with designing parachutes using household supplies, and then they wrote a story about the experience.ā
A-plus for creative thinking?
