Loveland, Ohio – Loveland Elementary School (LES) students recently put books aside, and hit the sidewalks of the City of Loveland for a walking field trip to study the community’s history. Third-grade students explored “then and now” at the Rich Log Cabin, home to Loveland’s Historical Museum. They also went on a scavenger hunt at Nisbet Park and adopted a tree they plan to visit again this spring to observe the changes in nature.
“This is an annual trip for our students, and an event we always look forward to,” said LES Teacher Summer Mangano. “We visit various spots through the town and talk about many historical buildings of Loveland, what they were in the past and what they are now, before stopping and getting a tour by Mrs. Peggy French of The Rich Log Cabin. It’s a wonderful learning experience for our third graders and we’re so grateful to live in a community where we are able to give the children these learning opportunities.”
