Loveland Schools: Keeping you in the loop – Coronavirus

    The Loveland City School District works with other government entities in our area, including the City of Loveland, the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department and local law enforcement, to monitor and coordinate efforts in regards to any situation that could potentially pose a threat to the health, safety or welfare of our community. This collaboration has been in place for many years and allows the district to stay on the forefront of planning for, responding to, and mitigating emergencies. (An example was the pandemic flu response plan implemented during the H1N1 flu outbreak in 2009.)

    We continue to monitor the situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus through communications with local and state health partners as well as updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will take appropriate steps to implement our response plan as necessary.

In the meantime, district maintenance personnel continue to bleach and disinfect classrooms and school buses regularly – high touch point areas and rooms identified with known cases of illness, like the flu, are especially targeted. Loveland Schools are among approximately 20 school districts in the area that have “T360” machines on hand to facilitate efficient sanitation of critical areas in the school buildings and on buses.

    We will keep you informed throughout this process. At this time, we encourage our families to avoid spreading all viruses through common sense prevention: thorough handwashing; avoiding touching the “T-zone” (mouth, nose, eyes); coughing/sneezing into elbow or tissue; and keeping sick children home from school.
