Loveland High School Athletic Director Julie Renner sent these comments about the game via an e-mail:
The support at the DI Girls Soccer State Finals Game was wonderful and we can’t thank everyone enough for the Support and Love. At the awards ceremony after the game, the Ohio High School Athletic Association even commented on Tiger Nation and the support of the Loveland Community!
Congratulations to our Girls Soccer Team for such a successful season! We are all extremely proud. The support by the community as well as the girls’ families was tremendous and heart-warming.
After the game, Kelly also thanked the Loveland community which turned out thousands of fans, perhaps triple the number of Walsh fans. Loveland took ten “spirit buses to the game in Columbus at MAPFRE Stadium, home to the Columbus Crew. Kelly said, “We played hard and we played like we wanted to win, but I’m disappointed for my kids. They played their hearts out.”
