Loveland High School will be sending a record number of athletes to the Ohio High School Athletic Associations State Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday. Below is a list of how they fared last week at the Regional competition in Dayton.
In order to qualify for the state meet, the top four in each event heads to Columbus:
Taylor Florence (Sr.) – Pole Vault – 4th place – 14′ 8″
Giovanni Ricci (Sr.) – High Jump – 4th place – 6′ 4″
Giovanni Ricci (Sr.) – 110 High Hurdles – 1st place – 14.66
Carsen Davenport (Sr.), Vaughn Richter (Soph.), Jordan Davis (Sr.), Zion Wynn (Soph.), [Nate Slagel (Sr.) alternate) 4 x 200 relay – 3rd place – 1:28.87
Zion Wynn (Soph.) – 400 m dash – 3rd place – 48.72
The 4 x 100 m relay of Davenport, Ricci, Davis and Slagel narrowly missed finishing 5th with a time of 42.49. Nate Slagel also finished 8th in the 100 m dash finals.
The Loveland Mens team finished 4th in the Region behind Northwest, Mason and Centerville. This is the highest the team has ever placed in the Region meet.
