We all have that never ending to-do list filled with home projects, books to read, movies to watch, and notes to write. Even with my list already full, I didn’t want to let Teacher Appreciation Week be forgotten before I took the time to say a proper thank you to our rock star teaching staff, and I hope you will join me in writing your own note of appreciation to a teacher (your current teacher, your child’s teacher, or a teacher who made an impact on your family in the past).
Our schools and our teachers face a time period of unprecedented change: increased testing, integration of instructional technology, ever-evolving education legislation – to name just a few. As we navigate this new era of education – never before has the role of the teacher been so critical to the success of our students. The positive impact of a great teacher cannot be over-emphasized. A teacher who cares. A teacher who pushes students to achieve. A teacher who reaches out to every individual student and provides them just what they need to be their best.
We are so fortunate to have so many outstanding, dedicated teachers working with our children. Your support of the work they do has been strong, consistent and positive. Please consider taking time this week to say thanks – let them know how important they are to you, your child, and our community. Now, possibly more than ever, is a great time to show them how much the work they do means.
