Loveland, Ohio – The Seth Mitchell Hero 5K, established to honor 1997 Loveland High School (LHS) graduate Seth Mitchell, a Marine captain who was killed during combat in Afghanistan, serves as a memorial scholarship fundraiser for the Loveland Schools Foundation. For more information, or to sign up please visit: www.sethmitchell5k.org. This year’s race was held October 1.
The 2016 Captain Seth Mitchell Scholarship Winners for this past year were Megan Phelan and Marissa Witt.
The race is organized each year by Mitchell’s former classmates who miss their friend and want to keep his memory alive. They represent the many people who Seth made an impression on with his sense of humor, kind heart, and loyal friendship. As they organize this 5k Race and the scholarship memorial fund, they are “… motivated by one enduring inspiration: to live each day a little more honorably, kindly, and humbly… just like Seth.”
Please join us by donating, running, or volunteering – and keep Seth’s memory alive.
