‘College Planning Strategies’ helps parents consider academics, admissions and finances
Thrivent Financial is hosting a free educational workshop to help parents of high school students with their college planning. Called “College Planning Strategies,” the 60 minute workshop will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, September 12th as on online webinar. The workshop is hosted by Libby Greiwe, a financial representative with Thrivent Financial in Loveland, OH.
The workshop, titled “College Planning Strategies” is designed to help parents and their students avoid costly mistakes that can arise throughout the college admission and selection process. It also covers basic facts about financial aid; steps that parents and students can take to help save money by using admission and academic strategies; and, discovering funding sources to help pay for your child’s college education and other ways to help minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
“According to the College Board’s Trends in College Pricing, 2014, total Cost of Attendance averaged about $23,410 nationally at public, four-year, in-state undergraduate schools,” <said Greiwe. “It’s important that families provide a college education for their children without sacrificing other financial goals or burdening their children with too much debt. This workshop can assist in those preparations.”
