LECC students learn all about recycling thanks to The Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District
Loveland, Ohio – Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC) first-grade students got a lesson in the “R’s For Life” Tuesday, April 21, as The Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District sponsored a free assembly for the class featuring Michelle White from Crystal Clear Science. R’s For Life is a fun, fast-paced show that focuses on empowering and inspiring kids to be a part of the solution. Colorful and interesting props help kids learn about how they can and why they should reduce, reuse, and recycle.
“This was the first time we’ve had this assembly, and it served as a great reminder for our students to participate in the materials recycling already going on during the lunch period,” said LECC Principal Kyle Bush. “It also proved to be a great way to back up our practices with a better understanding of what can and can’t be recycled, and why ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ is an important concept for not only kids, but also for adults. We were impressed.”
LECC students currently follow recycling procedures in the cafeteria and classrooms. At lunch students can recycle bottles and cans, cardboard milk cartons, and Capri Sun juice pouches. Paper recycling bins are located throughout the school in every room.
