LIS Student Council members teach LECC students a crafty lesson
They have long since graduated from Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC), but Thursday, Feb. 5, around 50 Loveland Intermediate School (LIS) Student Council members found themselves back in the elementary classrooms – this time teaching! Each group of LIS students selected their own book to teach and designed the lessons to go with it.
“They were awesome!” said LECC First-Grade Teacher Karen Griffin. “They read The Very Hungry Caterpillar using puppets. My first graders were simply captivated.”
“This is an opportunity for both groups of students to learn and grow,” said LIS Teacher and Student Council Sponsor Steve Federman. “It is just as exciting for our LIS students to return to LECC to teach this annual lesson as it is for the young Tigers to participate in it. We look forward to it every year.”
After the LIS students finished the story they helped LECC students create caterpillar bookmarks.
