    Princeton High School hosted the annual Ohio Music Education Association District XIV Honor Bands Festival on January 9. After auditioning, students from area schools were selected to perform in the prestigious OMEA concert. There was a High School Honor Band performance, a High School Honor Symphony Band concert, as well as performances by 7th and 8th-grade Honor Bands.

    Students from Cincinnati’s most prestigious schools were represented:

    Anderson, Goshen, Indian Hill, Loveland, Mariemont, Milford, Moeller, Mount Notre Dame, Oak Hills, Princeton, Reading Community School, Reading, SCPA, St. Xavier, Sycamore, Turpin, Walnut Hills, West Clermont, Wyoming, Colerain, and Summit Country Day.

    The audio above is the concert given by the High School Symphony Honor Band. Several Loveland High School students were selected to be in this band:

    Dr. Brandon Jones was the guest conductor. Jones is a Professor of Music, Coordinator of Instrumental Music, and Music Department Chairperson at Wittenberg University, where he conducts their Symphonic Band.

    Several other Loveland School District students performed during the full afternoon of concerts.

    LHS Honors the top Winter Sport Student-Athletes!

    Loveland, Ohio – Over the past couple of months many Loveland High School student-athletes have been patiently waiting for an answer as to if and when school and sports would start back up. Unfortunately, it was announced last week by Governor Dewine that Ohio students would not be attending school for the remainder of the school year meaning there would be no continuation of sports for the time being as well.

    Due to the Stay At Home Order stipulations LHS wasn’t able to host their annual Winter Athletics Awards Ceremony, where the top student-athletes are honored for their Winter sports achievements. Here at Loveland Magazine, we couldn’t bear the thought of LHS student-athletes not being honored and recognized by the Loveland community for their fantastic sports seasons so we reached out to LHS’s Athletic Director, Brian Conatser to get a list of all the LHS Winter Sport Athletes that were recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Edward Jones, located in the business district of Old Loveland and owner Jeff Atkinson is honoring student-athletes for the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The LHS Athletic Department submits accomplishments for many of LHS’s student-athletes based on the criteria of LHS’s 4 CORE VALUES. Those 4 CORE VALUES are Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and PRIDE. 1 female and 1 male athlete are chosen to represent Loveland High School Athletics as the Outstanding Student-Athlete for the 2019-2020 Winter Season.”

    Listen and watch Loveland High School Students perform at 2020 OMEA District XIV Honor Band Festival

    Princeton High School – On Sunday, January 20 twenty Loveland music students performed in the Matthews Auditorium at Princeton High School. The occasion was OMEA District XIV Honor Band Festival. The 75-year-old Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) is the principal organization in Ohio promoting music education in elementary and secondary schools as well as colleges and universities. OMEA began in 1924 in Fostoria, Ohio as the Ohio School Band Association to promote band contests in Ohio.

    Students from the region audition for the opportunity to perform at the Festival. They have one rehearsal the week of their performance. The Loveland students are listed below.

    The 8th-grade Honor Band performed under the direction of Guest Conductor Lois Wiggins.

    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland High School wraps up a special Winter Sports Season. Loveland teams had many great accomplishments that were earned by the great individual and team efforts.

    Final ECC Standings for all teams include:

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Men’s and Women’s High School Bowling teams are having memorable seasons. Both teams are in the Top 3 in the ECC and have been led by a mix of experience and newcomers. Both look to continue their success that they have had this season and turn it into a potential ECC Championship.

    The Loveland Men’s Bowling team currently sits at 10-4 overall (7-3 Conference) and is in 3rd place in the ECC behind West Clermont (7-0) and Kings (5-2). Loveland is led by Freshman, Alton French, who is averaging 189.4 Pins per game. Alton has a Game High of 242 Pins and a series high of 441. The team has no Seniors this year, so they are led by the experience of Junior, Matthew Rychlik, who is averaging 180.6 Pins per game. Matthew has a game high of 217 pins and a series high of 406.

    The Loveland Women’s Bowling team currently sits at 10-4 overall (8-2 Conference) and is in 2nd place in the ECC behind West Clermont (7-0). Loveland is led by Senior Maria Reich, and Junior, Grady Pettit. Maria is having a great season and leading the Loveland team by averaging 154.2 pins per game. Maria has a game high of 182 pins and a series high of 346. Grady is averaging 152.5 pins per game, Grady has a game high of 200 pins and a series high of 386.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Mens and Womens Bowling teams have started the season strong.

    Their seasons got underway last week when they both played Reading. The Mens team won with a score of 2270 to Reading’s 1974. Leading the way for Loveland was Freshman, Alton French who Bowled a series of 371. Alton is averaging 193.5 pins a game over his first six games and has a series high of 441. The Womens team lost to Reading 1999 to 1986 but have made a come back and have won their last two matches. Most recently, beating Anderson by scores of 1918 to 1729, and 2002 to 1602.

    The Womens team is led by Senior, Maria Reich, who averages 153.3 pins a game over her first six games and has a series high of 318.

    The Mens team is 3-0 so far this season (2-0 conference), and the Womens team, 2-1 (2-0 conference).

    Both teams will take on the Kings Knights December 4th and the 5th of at 3:30 PM at Mason Bowl and Crossgate Lanes. Loveland will look to continue their early season success and try to be the first Loveland Bowling team to take home the ECC Championship since Loveland split the title with Glen Este in 2012-13.
