    Loveland, Ohio – Today in the gym of Loveland High School (LHS), six student athletes signed their letter of intent to accept college scholarships and play their sport at the next level.

    Athletic Director Rich Bryant introduced the students and their family, and read a short bio of the student’s accomplishments while at LHS.

    Congratulations to the following student athletes who will be continuing their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level:

    Cody Hustead – Bluffton – Football

    Mya Veeneman – Ohio Northern University – Soccer

    Averi Case – University of Cincinnati – Cheer

    Vinny DeSalvo – Transylvania University – Baseball

    Andrew Kitts – Otterbein University – Baseball

    Aiden Hansen – Centre College – Baseball

    Blue Ash, Ohio – In statements to the school community, the Sycamore District said:

    The Sycamore Family is deeply saddened by the loss of Sycamore High School’s beloved athletic director, Mark Harden. His passion, dedication, and spirit will forever be remembered.

    Harden 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on southbound I-75 Wednesday afternoon.

    The Greater Miami Athletic Conference said on X:

    It is with a heavy heart the Greater Miami Conference mourns the untimely passing of Sycamore Athletics Director Mark Harden. Mark was involved in auto accident this afternoon on I75 which took his life. His presence and leadership will be difficult to replace.

    Loveland, Ohio – Current Loveland High School District Director of Student Athletics Brian Conatser will move into the role of LHS Assistant Principal beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. Conatser will take over as Assistant Principal as Eric Fry moves to a similar position at Oak Hills High School. 

    “I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve Loveland City School District in a new capacity. We have an incredible student body, staff, and community, and I am very fortunate to have experienced this as a Loveland classroom teacher, coach, Athletic Director, and now as an Assistant Principal. I look forward to the new challenge and am thrilled to continue to be a part of an amazing district,” Conatser said.

    Conatser has served as the District Director of Student Athletics for four years. He was Loveland’s Assistant Director of Student Athletics for two years and spent 15 years as a science teacher and coach at Loveland and Sycamore High Schools. 

    A search will now begin for the next Athletic Director. 

    In the meantime, it has also just been announced that Clay George, the current Assistant Athletic Director will be leaving to become the head athletic director at Ansonia JH/HS.

    LHS Begins Three-Phrase Process in Reopening of Athletic Facilities

    Loveland, Ohio – The time has finally come to begin the reopening of high school athletic facilities! Loveland High School announced last Thursday on their school website that they would begin a three-phase process following and according to the guidelines given by the OHSAA for the reopening of their athletic facilities, which began on June 1st.

    After the initial announcement, Loveland’s Athletic Department reassured the community that they have been in communication with all teams about the expectations and guidelines so that all of the student-athletes and coaches are both protected and safe.

    LHS’s Athletic Director, Brian Conatser, explained more in-depth as to what the three-phrase reopening process entails and what his Athletic Department is going to do to ensure the safety of Loveland’s student-athletes and coaches.

    “This is a three-phase process that follows the Ohio Governor and Health Department’s Responsible Restart Ohio. Our coaches are extremely committed to working with the Athletic Department to implement the COVID-19 procedures and guidelines,” Conatser explained, “As an Athletic Department, we walked through the process as a team, fine-tuning our plan prior to our athletes returning to campus. The plan is extremely thorough and detailed, as the safety of our student-athletes and coaches are our primary concern.  Here are a few guidelines that our coaches and student-athletes are taking as we begin our return to high school athletics;
    1. Every student-athlete and coach MUST complete the 2020-21 Final Forms COVID-19 waiver prior to the 1st training session.
    2. Every student-athlete and coach MUST complete the LHS COVID-19 Self-Evaluation Google Form every day prior to each skills training session.
    3. Social distancing includes a 6-foot separation. Entrances and Exits are outlined and over-communicated to avoid congregation and lingering of student-athletes.
    4. Facial coverings must be worn when in the building (gyms, fitness center, athletic training room). Facial coverings may be removed during the training session.
    5. Sanitation products and stations are located at the entry and exit of our inside facilities.  We also ask EVERY student to bring: Water bottle, Sanitation wipes, Hand sanitizer, and Facial covering.
    6. All equipment, balls, etc. must be wiped down at the beginning and end of each training session.
    7. Three phases: Phase 1: May 26th – June 8th / Phase 2:  June 9th – June 22nd / Phase 3: June 23rd – July 6th”

    Conatser told us that June 1st was a great day to be a Tiger because all of LHS’s student-athletes, coaches, and parents played such an important role in the reopening process.

    “From parents dropping off their kids in designated spots to everyone following the COVID-19 guidelines, day one was a success,” Conatser said, “The coaches deserve an overwhelming amount of credit! These outstanding professionals made sure their programs had ALL of the information well ahead of time via communication for ZOOM, Google Hangout, Email, Twitter, etc. We are looking forward to a safe and productive summer of skill training. Welcome back TigerNation! Go Tigers!”

    Eric Fry: New assistant athletic director to join Tiger team

    Loveland, Ohio – To assist newly named Loveland Athletic Director Brian Conatser, the Board of Education approved Eric Fry as assistant director of student athletics. Fry has been serving students as a coach since 2001 and as a teacher since 2002, and most recently served as the athletic director for Turpin High School in the Forest Hills School District (2012-2018).

    Fry earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Ohio University in 2002, he earned his master’s degree in education in sports administration from Xavier University in 2007, and his license in school leadership and administration from Xavier in 2014. He additionally attended the Alpaugh Scholar Leadership Program at the University of Cincinnati in 2016.

    Loveland celebrated Tigers State Champion Soccer Team with ring ceremony

    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland High School (LHS) and the Loveland Athletic Boosters joined Tiger Nation in celebrating the success of the Tigers State Champion Soccer Team with a State Championship Ring Ceremony Friday, May 4, in the LHS Gym. The Loveland Athletic Boosters purchased the championship rings for the entire team and coaches.

    Loveland School District names Brian Conatser athletic director

    Former interim to lead in permanent capacity

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland City School District announced today that Brian Conatser – a longtime Tiger – as the permanent district director of student athletics. Conatser, who has 12 years of experience growing Loveland student-athletes in his work as a varsity coach, served as the athletic director in an interim capacity during the 2017-18 school year following the February announcement that District Director of Student Athletics Julie Renner accepted a position outside education with FinalForms, a national athletic management solution company.

    “Loveland High School is known in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference for our robust athletic program, and Mr. Conatser proved to Tiger Nation that he has what it takes to lead this program forward,” said Loveland High School Principal Peggy Johnson.

    Conatser began serving the district in 2006 as a teacher at Loveland High School (LHS). During that time Conatser was a member of the varsity football coaching team, and worked as the LHS strength and conditioning coach. He transitioned from his teaching role to work as the LHS Innovative Instructional Coach during the 2015-16 school year, before joining the administrative team in the role of assistant director of student athletics in 2016. Conatser has a Bachelor’s of Education in Health Promotion from the University of Cincinnati, a Master’s of Education in Secondary Education from Xavier University, and a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from American College of Education.

    “I love this district, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to grow our already outstanding athletic program for our students, our parents, our community, and our staff,” said Conatser. “It is a great time to be a Tiger!”

    March 1st will be Julie Renner Day at Loveland High School

    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland High School (LHS) has announced that District Director of Student Athletics Julie Renner has accepted a position with FinalForms, a national athletic management solution company, and her final day will be March 2.


    “I would not be telling the truth if I said this was an easy decision; the last four and a half years I have spent at Loveland have been a blessing,” said Renner. “My husband took a new position at Marshall University this past summer, moving our family home to West Virginia. Therefore, I have accepted this new position so we can live together as a family.

    “Loveland High School is a wonderful school, in an outstanding district and community. I cannot say enough about the caring school staff and coaching staff that I have been privileged to work with over these past four years. Moreover, the parents, adults and Booster organizations who work so hard to support this school to make it the best place for not just a few kids but for all students. I will miss the students so much. They hold a special place in my heart and many memories which will be forever stamped in my mind.”

    “We often say, ‘Once a Tiger, always a Tiger’ and this is certainly true of our feelings for Mrs. Renner,” said LHS Principal Peggy Johnson. “We – the administration, the staff and the students – will certainly miss the spirit she has brought to this role, but we are also so excited for this unique professional opportunity for her.”

    Renner has served the district in the position of director of student athletics since 2013, and has helped manage a state champion football team, a state champion wrestler, and a state champion womens soccer team during her tenure.

    “I would like to extend my gratitude to the Board of Education, the Loveland Athletic Boosters, the Athletic Department and the entire administrative team,” said Renner. “I would like to thank everyone for making my work environment enjoyable and giving me the opportunity to work with students every day. I greatly appreciate all of your support and guidance over the tenure of my employment.” 

    The district will announce a transition plan in the very near future.

  • Champions Tour through Loveland for Loveland Women Division I State Soccer Champs

    Champions Tour through Loveland for Loveland Women Division I State Soccer Champs

    Dear Loveland Community and Tiger Nation, 

    We want to make you aware of the plans in place to honor our outstanding State Champion Lady Tigers Soccer Team. The student-athletes and their coaches have requested to conduct a Champions Tour through our school district and community on Friday, Dec. 8. Loveland police and fire officials will be escorting the team during this tour, which includes the following stops:

    ·         8:30 – 8:45 a.m. – Loveland Elementary School

    ·         8:45 – 9 a.m. – Loveland Primary School

    ·         9:15 – 9:30 a.m. – Loveland Early Childhood Center

    ·         9:45 – 10 a.m. – Loveland Middle School

    ·         10:15 – 11 a.m. – Loveland Board Office

    ·         11 – 11:15 a.m. – Loveland Intermediate School

    ·         2 – 2:20 p.m. – Loveland High School (There will be a video shown in the gym which highlights the season and the journey.)

    Please feel free to join us at any of the stops we are making along the tour. 

    The team made the decision to proceed in this fashion because they want an opportunity to thank Tiger Nation for supporting and cheering for them during this amazing state run, and the two dates proposed for a community parade were in direct conflict with plans the girls had that could not be rearranged.

    Additionally, the Loveland Board of Education will recognize the State Champion Lady Tigers Soccer Team at the 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, Board Business Meeting held at the Loveland Intermediate School Media Center. All members of the Tiger Family are invited to attend this event.

    Symmes Township is recognizing the winning team 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at a Township meeting. Tuesday, Jan. 9, Loveland City Council will honor the team at the scheduled city council meeting, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, Miami Township has also invited the team to join them at one of their business meetings.  

    The Loveland Athletic Department will induct the entire 2017 Lady Tigers Soccer Team into our Loveland High School Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of our Tiger basketball games vs. Kings Friday, Dec. 15.

    Finally, our Loveland Athletic Boosters are generously going to purchase State Championship rings for our student-athletes and coaches. When the rings come in, we will organize a public ring ceremony event, where all are welcome.

    We are so proud of the Lady Tigers Soccer Team accomplishments and all they have achieved. Please help us celebrate their success at one of the above events, and for the events currently unscheduled, please look for additional details to come.
