Loveland, Ohio – The Winter Sports season is upon us and the Loveland Men’s Basketball team is looking forward to their upcoming season..

The Loveland Men’s Basketball team is Coached by Rob Reis. Coach Reis is in his fourth year of coaching at Loveland and holds a 29-41 record over his first three years, including a playoff win over Amelia. After a 5-18 season last year, Loveland looks to get back on track this season.
Loveland is led by Seniors, Jalen Greiser and Matthew Toigo. Jalen was named First team all ECC last season and averaged 13.5 points per game, 5.1 rebounds a game (1.3 offensive) and 2.4 assists per game. Matthew was named Honorable Mention

all ECC last season and averaged 9.5 points per game and 2.3 rebounds a game. Also look for Senior Tripp Willis and Junior Alec Soth to have big impacts this season. Tripp was named Second Team all ECC last season and averaged 8.0 points per game, and 4.3 rebounds a game. Alec averaged 4.6 points per game last year and 2.2 rebounds a game.

It’s Loveland vs. St. X in State Tournament on Saturday at 8 PM at Lakota West
The Loveland Tigers (5-17, 3-11 conf) match up against the St. Xavier Bombers (15-7, 2-4 conf) in a winner take all game. Loveland looks to end their 9 game losing streak, while getting a big time win versus St. Xavier. St. Xavier looks to make a big tournament run and hopes to start off with a convincing win.
Sophomore Guard Brenton Foust had 14 points on 5 of 5 shooting (2 of 2 from 3) as well as 3 assists recently against West Clermont.
St Xavier lost to West Clermont by 3 (51 to 48) earlier in the season and Loveland just lost to West Clermont by 6 (61 to 55).
In Loveland’s last game Sophomore Guard Brenton Foust had 14 points on 5 of 5 shooting (2 of 2 from 3) as well as 3 assists. In St Xavier’s last game Junior Guard Nathan Stockman had 13 points on 5 of 12 shooting (0 of 1 from 3). Nathan also had 7 rebounds (3 offensive) and 3 assists.
For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser who averages 13.5 points per game on 40.2% shooting (37.0% from 3). Jalen also averages 5.2 rebounds (1.4 offensive) and 2.6 assists per game. For Loveland also look for Junior Guard Matthew Toigo who averages 9.5 points per game on 51.0% shooting (42.2% from 3). Matthew also averages 2.3 rebounds a game (1.0 offensive).

For St Xavier also look for Senior Guard Chase Wolf who averages 11.1 points per game on 38.9% shooting (38.1% from 3). Chase also averages 2.1 assists per game and 1.4 steals a game. Lastly for St Xavier look for Senior Forward Bobby Jefferson who averages 8.0 points per game on 49.6% shooting. Bobby also averages 4.3 rebounds a game (1.7 offensive).

The Loveland Tigers (5-12, 3-7 conf) match up against the Indian Hill Braves (12-4, 9-2 conf) in a non-conference showdown. The Braves of Indian Hill have gotten off to a strong start in the season and look to continue their success. While Loveland looks to get things back on track after losing 10 of the last 11 games.
Game time is 7:30 PM, Saturday, February 2.
For Loveland one to look for would have been Junior Guard Jalen Greiser, who averages 15.3 points per game on 42.7% shooting. Jalen also averages 5.9 rebounds a game and 3.3 assists a game. Jalen as a Sophomore was Honorable Mention last year in the ECC. Unfortunately Jalen was hurt in tonight’s game versus the Withrow Tigers, and will be missing this game. For Loveland look for Tripp Willis who is averaging 7.5 points per game on 43.2% shooting. Also look for Junior Guard Matthew Toigo who averages 9.5 points per game on 52.6% shooting (46.9% from 3).
For Indian Hill look for Senior Guard Colin Shaw, Colin averages 18.1 points per game on 41.5% shooting. Colin also averages 8.5 rebounds a game and shoots 78% from the free throw line. Also look for 6’7 Junior Forward Johnny Bultema who averages 12.1 points per game. Johnny also averages 5.3 rebounds per game and shoots 86.7% from the free throw line.

In a rematch, the Loveland Men (3-6, 5-11) look to get back on track, while the Withrow Tigers (7-3, 9-8) look to continue their successful season.
For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser. Jalen averages 15.3 points per game on 43% shooting (37% from 3). Jalen also averages 5.9 rebounds a game and 3.3 assists. Also look for Junior Guard Matthew Toigo who averages 9.8 points per game and shoots 48.3% from 3. On the glass look for Junior Forward Tripp Willis, Tripp averages 7.3 points per game and 3.8 rebounds.
For Withrow look for 7’0 Junior Abba Lawal, Abba averages 9.9 points per game and 11.6 rebounds (4.1 offensive). Also look for Junior Forward Mike Hill Jr. Mike averages 11.6 points per game on 36.4% shooting and averages 5.6 rebounds a game.
In the first meeting Loveland was without Juniors Tripp Willis and Jalen Greiser, both were out with injuries. The First meeting resulted with a 44-24 Withrow Win, In this second meeting expect it to be a closer game.
