    ABOUT CancerFree KIDS

CancerFree KIDS aims to find more effective and gentler treatments for childhood cancer by funding innovative research projects in the early stages of development. New ideas need money to grow, yet potential breakthrough treatment methods often go unfunded because pediatric cancer research is drastically limited. CancerFree KIDS provides grants to high-risk/high-reward childhood cancer research projects in these crucial early stages, which allows researchers to prove their concept, secure additional funding, and eventually create new treatments for kids.

Come Out to Support the LHS Athletes at the Annual Athletic Boosters Golf Scramble!

Loveland, Ohio – The LHS Athletics community has come together in light of the “Pay-To-Play” announcement to support the Tiger student-athletes that now have to pay $310 per sport. The Loveland Athletic Boosters, a non-profit organization composed of adult volunteers, have been and continue to be one of the biggest advocates for the LHS student-athletes as they are consistently coming up with ways to generate income for the LHS Athletic Department. Money is raised typically by running concessions, fundraising, and Booster Membership fees.

Recently, the Loveland Athletic Boosters created a Facebook group that is focused on raising money for the pay-to-play fees for LHS student-athletes. Click the article link below to learn about the Loveland Athletic Boosters Facebook group and how you can “Adopt-A-Tiger!”

Individuals, businesses, civic/social groups are encouraged to participate as golfers, hole sponsors, or as door prize contributors.  If people are interested in playing in the golf outing but cannot come up with a foursome, we invite them to register anyway and we will match them up with other individual players.  Anyone interested in participating in or supporting the golf outing should contact Gene Bishop, Miami Township CPAAA at 513 225-5334 or, Peggy Goodwin, Loveland CPAAA at pjgoodwin@fuse.net or 513-677-9066.

The Loveland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association uses its share of the proceeds from the annual golf outing to fund various projects and initiatives in support of our Loveland Police Division.  One such project was contributing towards the purchase of an ATV several years ago; this vehicle allowed our officers to maneuver more easily within crowds during events, etc.  More recently we purchased a gas grill for use by officers and staff at the Safety Center as well as replacing two tent canopies used by the officers at various events.  In addition, the Alumni co-sponsors an Emergency Services Scholarship (along with the Loveland Police Officers Association) that is open to any student living within the City of Loveland who is majoring in Criminal Justice.
