    Loveland District’s annual Quality Profile

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland City School District has earned an overall 5-Star Rating on the Ohio School Report Card. According to Superintendent Mike Broadwater, a 5-Star Report Card means the district “significantly exceeds” state standards. Loveland has achieved the highest rating for three years in a row.

    The District’s annual Quality Profile shown below is a companion to the State Report Card. Ohio School Report Cards are required by law to provide parents, caregivers, community members, educators and policymakers information about district and school performance. The Quality Profile is intended to highlight additional measures families and community members regard as important values, but are not part of the Ohio Department of Education’s report cards.

    The Loveland District Report Card is issued by the Ohio Department of Education.

    Loveland Earns Five Stars in Every Category on Ohio School Report Card

    Loveland City School District has earned a Five Star Overall Rating on the 2023-2024 Ohio School Report Card. Only ten public school districts in the Cincinnati region of Hamilton, Butler, Warren, and Clermont Counties earned an “Overall Rating” of Five Stars. 

    “Earning a Five-Star Ohio School Report Card is a sign that Loveland City School District delivers a great education to our students. Families should feel great knowing that they are sending their children to a fantastic school district,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said. 

    The Ohio School Report Card has five component areas: Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation, and Early Literacy. Districts can earn up to five stars in each category but may earn an “Overall Rating” of five stars without fives in every category. Loveland is one of only 18 districts in Ohio to earn Five Stars across the board in each component area. This accomplishment puts Loveland City School District in the top 3% of Ohio’s more than 600 public school districts. 

    “Loveland is incredibly fortunate to have all the ingredients for a top-notch school district – students and staff who work hard every day, along with families and community members who offer us tremendous support. Our entire Loveland City School District community should be proud of this accomplishment,” Broadwater said. 

    Loveland earned an Overall Rating of 5 Stars on the 2022-23 Ohio School Report Card and earned 5 Stars in every category on the 2021-22 Ohio School Report Card.

    Loveland Tiger Families,

I wanted to send a special note this afternoon to invite you to our Showcase Night. It takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Loveland High School, beginning at 6 pm.

Showcase Night is an opportunity for us to show our parents and community some of the great programs offered at every grade level. It’s also a chance to do one of my favorite things - talk about our kids and their accomplishments

School hasn’t looked very normal over the past few years, which means we haven’t had as many opportunities for parents, volunteers, and other community members to be inside our buildings. Showcase Night is a chance to change that!

We are also kicking off our Strategic Vision process with a pair of community input sessions. They’ll take place in the Music Room at the High School on Wednesday night. Join us at either 5:30 pm or 6:30 pm to learn more about our Strategic Vision process and how you can get involved. If you can’t make it, look for a link in this week’s Tiger Talk newsletter with more information about a survey we’ll be sharing to gather your feedback or check www.lovelandschools.org/vision to stay up to date.

    Next week is going to be exciting for Loveland City Schools. We are hosting our Showcase Night at Loveland High School beginning at 6 PM on Wednesday, February 9. This is a great opportunity for our families, and our community members to see our students and their great work. You can think of this as a district-wide Open House, highlighting cool programs and projects.

    If you’re the parent of a younger Loveland Tiger, this is a chance to see what kinds of things your students may want to get involved with as they move up next year.

    If you’re a community member, this is a chance for you to see what’s already going on, and find out how you can help!

    Quality Profile

    Our Quality Profile was also released this week. This 12-page document we created in-house is a great chance for you to review district accomplishments over the last year, so even if you can’t make it to Showcase Night, you can still be informed. You can view our Quality Profile by following this link to our website.

    All of this is building up to our Strategic Vision process, which kicks off Wednesday night with a pair of Community Input sessions.

    Portrait of a Tiger Vision Process

    These will be held alongside Showcase Night at LHS at 5:30 and 6:30 PM. We’ll be reviewing our “Portrait of a Tiger” which will form the basis of our Strategic Vision process. Together as a community, we’ll build a shared vision of success for our students and lay out the action plan to get us there. You will not have to attend these sessions to participate because we will be sharing tools next week on our website at www.lovelandschools.org/vision to gather as much input as possible from our community.

    We are also building a Strategic Vision Design Team, made up of about 100 people from our community to help in this process. The team will include parents, students, staff, and community members who will sit down several times over the next few months to work together to create our vision. We want this group to represent the diverse opinions and insights of our Loveland City Schools community and if you or someone you know feels called to help us on this important project – you can fill out this form to let us know of your interest and we will be in touch.

    Measuring the success of our school district

    Our collective mission at Loveland City Schools is to prepare students for tomorrow, today; this year, the state report card reflected that we are making strides to achieve just that. I have said before and will say again: I strongly believe the true value of a school district cannot be limited to a simple score on a standardized test, which is what the state report card reflects. I also believe that there will always be room for growth and
    improvement, regardless of the “grades” earned. So while the report card is just one tool of accountability, it provides us with useful information we can apply and reflect upon as we continue to provide the best educational experience we can for our students.

    In Loveland, we celebrate gains in the Progress and Achievement components, both of which echo the growth we have made in giving our students the tools they need to comprehend, retain and personalize the information they receive every day. Through our targeted improvement plans in the past year, we have made particular strides in the Progress component, which indicates the growth of our students based on past performance. Our grade in the Achievement component places Loveland in the top 22 percent of districts in our region, which means our students are one step closer to being more educated, empowered and prepared for tomorrow, today.

    We can also celebrate a gain in the Gap Closing component of the report card, meaning we are putting initiatives and programs in place to properly meet the performance expectations for all students in English language arts, math and graduation. We are one of only 14 (out of 49) districts in Hamilton, Warren, Butler and Clermont counties that earned an “A.” I am incredibly proud of this accomplishment because it reflects the dedication and hard work our staff has put toward ensuring each and every student can be successful.

    While we will continue to celebrate our successes, we will never ignore the areas that present opportunities for growth. After all, who wouldn’t love to receive an “A” across all measures? Who wouldn’t love to see every child succeed every day? Ultimately, our goal is that every Tiger student is empowered to learn, grow and embody our core values of care, respect and responsibility. That is success.

    The work we do every day in our classrooms is complex, and as a school district committed to high achievement and continuous growth, we monitor, analyze and factor in multiple data points when we consider the educational experience we strive to provide.     Our Tiger Story – The 2016-17 Quality Profile

     

    Loveland City Schools releases annual report detailing student achievement, fiscal stewardship and community support…

     

    One-to-one technology for students grades five through 12; selection of innovative instructional grants to enhance classroom instruction; advanced placement exams for 39 percent of the junior class, and a 5-star rated preschool program – these are some of the highlights featured in Loveland’s 2016-17 Quality Profile, released September 11, and available at lovelandschools.org.

    “Focus – that is the story the 2016-17 Quality Profile tells,” said Loveland Interim Superintendent Dr. Amy Crouse. “Our Board of Education supported every administrator, every teacher and every staff member in focusing on Tiger academic growth, innovation and care – and this publication is a reflection of that collective effort. From our investment in the instructional cycle learning materials, to our development of Loveland [x] – teacher innovation teams – we worked to create a world-class environment for our students. We are excited to present the strides we made.

    “It is also the story of a district that embraces the complete student experience – exceptional arts, premier athletics and a close bond with the community in which we reside. Learning for our students certainly is not contained to the classroom.”

    Now in its fifth year, the Loveland City School District was one of more than 20 progressive school districts throughout Ohio to first release this groundbreaking, robust companion to the state report card. Called state wide a Quality Profile, the report helps characterize the overall educational value of the district in areas that matter most to community members. This year 85 school districts throughout Ohio are releasing a Quality Profile, with accountability measures that outline a high-quality education that are not captured by the state report card – including: academics, arts, student leadership and activities, fiscal stewardship, parent and community involvement and student services.

    “Ultimately – it’s all about our students – what we are doing to support their growth and development, and the amazing achievements they made during the school year,” said Crouse. “Our students are the stars of this publication, and from our award-winning food service professionals to our award-winning transportation department and all of the custodial, teaching and administrative professionals in between – we are proud of the collective focus we had to support them.”

    The Quality Profile is sponsored by the Alliance for High Quality Education, a statewide education consortium that works to improve educational opportunities for students and to represent member districts on matters of educational policy and funding.
