    Little League 11U State tournament coming to Symmes Township’s Home of the Brave Park

    Winner continues journey to Little League World Series

    HOSTED BY LOVELAND LITTLE LEAGUE

    Location: Home of the Brave Park – 11605 Lebanon Road Loveland, OH 45140

    For reference, the winner of the 12U tournament may advance all the way to the Little League World Series you see played on ESPN each August.

    Eight teams from around the state will be participating in the fourteen games to decide who wins the 9-10-11 Ohio Little League, State Banner.

    The Loveland Tournament begins Saturday, July 23rd, and will run as long as needed to declare a state champion. The winner moves on to the Midwest Regional Tournament.

    Tournament organizers are planning an outdoor movie screening of The Sandlot for all the teams, weather permitting on the opening evening after the first round of games. They will also be working with local establishments so that they can provide each team with discounts for dining. 

    About Home of the Brave Park:

    The state tournament will be completed on two fields. This are skin infields, and we will be utilizing temporary mounds set at the 9/10/11 pitching distance and are 10” high, which is within the Little League Guidelines. These fields will also have temporary fences installed at 200’ distances.

    This 54-acre park features five multi-purpose sporting fields for soccer, softball, baseball, and lacrosse, a Veterans’ memorial plaza, a shelter, and wet and dry playground areas.

    The park’s only shelter is located near the playground/water park area and can accommodate approximately 60 people. There is a $200 fee for residents ($250 for non-residents) plus a $150 deposit is required for the rental of this facility. The water park feature operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Park established 2012)

    Loveland’s 11U Little League All-Stars advanced to the District championship game but fell short losing to the Hamilton West Side team. Hamilton West Side will be representing the Southwest Ohio District (District 9) in this coming State tournament.

    Cincinnati, Ohio – FC Cincinnati and Vancouver Whitecaps FC finished 2-2 Wednesday night in front of 21,078 fans at TQL Stadium. The Orange and Blue tied for the fourth straight game and are unbeaten in their last six.

    FCC move to 7-7-6 (27 points). The Whitecaps are now 7-9-4 (25 points).

    FC Cincinnati struck first in the 3rd minute with Álvaro Barreal’s third goal of the season. After receiving a pass from Brenner approaching the top of the box, the Argentine took a touch and then weaved past a defender challenging the approach to fire from his favorite left foot into the back of the net.

    Barreal’s goal was the fifth-fastest goal in club history, the first ever for FCC to come in the third minute of play in an MLS contest.

    The Whitecaps equalized in the 5th minute to mark the second game in FCC club history with two goals in the opening five minutes (July 3, 2021 at Houston Dynamo FC).

    The Orange and Blue went back on top in the 23rd minute with the 10th goal of the season from Brandon Vazquez.

    With Brenner carrying the ball through defenders in traffic, he found a streaking Vazquez who moved in-between the Vancouver backline to receive the pass alone at the top of the box. He took a touch and fired a right-footed shot past Vancouver’s diving Cody Cropper for the go-ahead goal.

    Vazquez, the first player in FCC’s MLS history to reach 10 goals in a season, is two goals behind NYCFC’s Taty Castellanos for most in the league this season.

    The Whitecaps equalized on an 82nd minute goal from Cristian Dajome.

    Loveland, Ohio – This year’s Loveland High School Homecoming Parade will be on Thursday, October 6.

    The Homecoming Game will be Friday, October 7 against the Little Miami Panthers.

    The Loveland Athletic Boosters Homecoming Parade, celebrating Loveland High Schools Homecoming is a Loveland tradition. The Parade starts at the Moose Lodge Hall on East Loveland Avenue and proceeds to West Loveland Avenue, to Rich Road, and ends at Loveland High School.

    The annual Powder Puff football game will be held at Tiger Stadium immediately following the parade. The school is at #1 Tiger Trail.

    2022 Homecoming Parade Registration – High School and Middle School Participants

    The Grand Marshal this year is Jeff Williams. Jeff was president of Loveland Athletic Boosters for over 10 years. Parade organizer Tori Morrison said, “He was instrumental in getting funding for our first turf field and building our Athletic Fitness Center which is used by athletes in grades 7-12. I can’t think of a better or more deserving person to serve as our Grand Marshal.”

    Congestion alert for Loveland: Amazing Charity Race on Saturday

    Loveland, Ohio – Although racers are instructed to obey all traffic laws, thousands of participants will gather in downtown Loveland on Saturday for the Amazing Charity Race.

    The Amazing Charity Race started in 2005 as Loveland’s Amazing Race and has grown into one of the biggest races in the whole Cincinnati tri-state area! With a little bit of this and a little bit of that – we make you walk, run, ride, think and do – all for the fun of it!

    ​WHAT IS IT??: It is a full day of good natured competition, music and food and laughs. The race committee is laughing itself silly coming up with fun challenges. It is not a triathlon or a 5K race. It is not limited to runners or highly athletic individuals. It is a race in that it has a start and finish line but along the way it challenges the contestants in many ways. It is a fun, quirky, adventure that challenges the contestants agility, balance, coordination, strength, intelligence, problem solving skills, fine motor skills, and most importantly, their sense of humor.

    Kayaks, life jackets, and paddles will be provided. Participants are to provide their own bicycle. Life jackets must be worn at all times while on the water. Bike helmets must be worn at all times while on your bike.

    An annoucement this morning from the Board of Directors of the Amazing Charity Race

    Dear Racers,

    No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.” – Alfred North Whitehead

    A small group of us wanted to create a unique, family-fun event that challenged you physically and mentally.  We weren’t certain we would run 2 Amazing Charity Races, let alone, make it to year 17!

    After much consideration, The Board of The Amazing Charity Race has decided that this year’s race, to be held on Saturday June 18th, will be our final race.

    We are proud of many things but most proud that we’ve been able to give back to so many deserving charitable groups that helped support the race over the years.  Many volunteer’s time and talents made it possible for tens of thousands of race participants to experience a fun and unique day!  We are grateful to all and want to acknowledge their tremendous work in making our adventure a reality.

    We hope you can help us make this last race a memorable one!  Please spread the word among friends and family to sign up for the race or to join a charitable group in volunteering.  We will need each and every one of you to be successful one last time and give back to the community.

    This year we are going back to our original roots, the race will be run in Loveland and Symmes Township!

    Loveland, Ohio – Are you ready to see the Cincinnati Bengals make Superbowl history? Our beloved city sure knows how to celebrate a Bengals victory, so we thought what better way to prepare for the Superbowl than for YOU to “Show Us Your Stripes!”

    The Bengals will challenge the Los Angeles Rams for the Superbowl LVI title at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, February 13th at 6:30 p.m. 

    The Cincinnati Bengals have their eyes set on the Superbowl title for the first time since 1988 when they took on the San Francisco 49ers and lost 20-16. The Bengals have still yet to win a Superbowl but are confident that this year will be a great opportunity to win it for the first time in franchise history. 

    After the Bengals legendary AFC Championship win last Sunday, we knew that we wanted to celebrate and show our support for Cincinnati with the community leading up to the Superbowl. What better way to get our readers excited for the game than to showcase the city in their finest Bengals attire! We want YOU to “Show Us Your Stripes!” 

    From now until the day after the Superbowl we will be accepting photos of Bengals fans everywhere dressed in their Bengals gear! Photo entries can display where you have celebrated Bengals victories this year including decorations or can be as simple as a photo of you, your friends, and family cheering the Bengals on to victory. We especially want to see your black and orange decor if you have hosted a Bengals party or went somewhere to watch the game that had great decorations. You may also send in any “dressed for Bengals success” pet photos! The sky is the limit with any photos you decide to send in as we want to see some creativity and some Tiger style! If you are a business owner and you decorated your storefront or had your employees dress up in Bengals gear, we would love to see those photos as well! 

    Once we start receiving photo entries we will publish a couple of photos per day on our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for all of the community to enjoy! The following week after the Superbowl we will publish a photo album that will include all of the photo entries we received including photos taken on Superbowl Sunday. All photo entries should be emailed to Cassie Mattia and should include the following details:

    • The names of everyone in the photo including where they are from.
    • Where and when the photo was taken.
    • How long you have been a Bengals fan.
    • Any favorite local spots that you enjoy watching Bengals games…even if it is at home!

    We will be taking photo entries until Monday, February 14th.

    Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who bounced back from a left knee injury suffered in 2020 to throw for a franchise-record 34 TDs and lead the Bengals to the playoffs for the first time since 2015, is the 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, chosen in voting conducted by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).

    Burrow was on pace to break several Bengals single-season and NFL rookie passing records, along with NFL rookie passing marks before he suffered a knee injury against Washington on November 22, 2020 in his 10th game of his rookie season. He had surgery on December 2, 2020, and he embarked on a long rehab process that culminated in him taking the first snaps of Cincinnati’s 2021 training camp.

    He returned to the starting lineup and led the NFL in completion percentage (70.4 percent) and yards per attempt (8.87) and was second in passer rating (108.3) in his 16 games (all starts). He completed 366 of 520 passes for 4,611 yards (sixth in the NFL) and 34 touchdowns. On December 26, Burrow set a franchise record with 525 passing yards – the fourth-highest total in NFL history – on 37 of 46 passing and four touchdowns in a 41-21 home victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He was a 2021 PFWA All-AFC selection.

    Burrow is the second member of the Cincinnati franchise to receive Comeback Player of the Year honors (QB Jon Kitna in 2003) since the award was instituted in 1992.
