    Area July 3rd, 4th Celebrations and Fireworks

    City of Loveland

    • Visit these Loveland Businesses on July 4 for more live music. Rooster Ridge will be playing at Cappy’s Wine and Spirits from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.; Lyle’s Bikes, Brews & BBQ has booked Jason Ritchie from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Frank Grasso from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., DJ MoCool will be at Bishop’s Quarter from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

    • Don’t miss Inquire Without playing at the clock from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and The Whammies will take the stage in Nisbet Park at 8 p.m. on July 4!

    • Ladies and gentlemen, step right up to Cincinnati Circus’ Stunt Show on July 4 at the central green. Shows are at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

    • Bring the kiddos to Loveland’s July 4 Kid Zone in Nisbet Park from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. All activities are FREE and will feature the Cool Critter’s Outreach, Heavenward Farms Pony Rides, Foam Dance Party, Disney Characters, Bounce House, Inflatable Games, Face Painting, Balloon Artists, and Branches Church Photo Booth.

    • Shuttles will be available on July 4! Park at Loveland High School or St. Columban Parish to catch a bus to downtown Loveland. Shuttles will run from 3:30 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

    • NEST will host an old-fashioned family fun area on the lawn in front of City Hall on July 4 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Activities will include sack races, water balloon toss, hula hoop contest, three-legged race, patriotic craft, watermelon seed spitting contest, and an apple pie baking contest. Please have pies at the judging area by 4:30 p.m.

    SPARKS IN THE PARK!

    July 3rd from 6 to 10 PM at Riverside Ball Park, Victor Stier Drive

    Rozzi’s Fireworks and the Ronnie Vaughn Band

    A few important reminders for Sparks in the Park….once again this year, no coolers will be allowed on the festival grounds. The @milfordcommunityfiredepartment will be selling water, pop and Gatorade, American Legion Victor Stier Post 450 will be selling beer and the Kona Ice Truck will be there with shaved ice!

    None of the vendors are set up to take credit/debit cards, it will be cash only and there will be an ATM available onsite. Food options available are Padrino Italian, Harvest Market Smoker, EZ BBQ, Texas Roadhouse, Milford Angilo’s Pizza, and Tickled Sweet.

    Bring chairs and/or blankets!

    Ronnie Vaughn Music will be kicking things off at 6 PM with lots of familiar favorites and some originals!

    Limited handicap parking is available at the festival grounds, look for the signs. Other parking options include Parking Options: City lot on Main Street, left-hand side of American Legion, The former Milford Main lot, the City Administrative Building and street parking. You can access the park from the uptown parking areas down Lila Avenue to High Street.

    The annual celebration is free and open to the public.

    Village of Maineville

    July 4th. The parade at 10 AM will stage at the Methodist Church on East Foster Maineville Road will travel west on Foster Maineville loop through Liberty Springs subdivision and return East on Foster Maineville Rd. Festival to follow until 1PM at the Town Hall

    July 3 Concert with The Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra

    7:30 PM until 9:30 PM

    Help celebrate our nation’s birthday. Join us in Montgomery Park for “Super Heroes and Super Divas, ” featuring music from “Batman: A Dark Knight Rises,” “Aint’ No Mountain High Enough,” and “Respect” as a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Featured guest soloist will be diva Kara Shay Thompson.

    Americana at its best! Fun kids’ games, corn-on-the-cob, hot dogs, pony rides, music, and an ALL-STAR ballgame round out this year’s festival.

    Many local vendors will be selling great food and drinks along the path in Montgomery Park: Graeter’s Ice Cream, Rotary Club of Northeast Cincinnati, Pit to Plate BBQ, Snowie Bus, and more.

    Live music by EDEN. The beer booth will be a great gathering spot for adults. Find a hillside spot to watch two local baseball teams play in the noon All-Star game. Be sure to join us for this full day of family fun!

    Northside July 4 Parade

    The parade steps off at noon on Thursday, July 4th. The parade starts at the northern boundary of Northside at Hamilton Avenue and Ashtree Drive and travels south on Hamilton Avenue to Hoffner Park. Roads will close approximately 10 minutes before the parade start.

    [Photos] MLK Day in Loveland

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Initiative and the Social Action Commission and Living Peace and Justice committees of St. Columban Church combined their efforts in organizing the 2018 celebration of the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday night. The event was held at the St. Columban Parish Hall.

    People brought their favorite dish for the 19th annual pot-luck event that began with the Loveland Initiative’s Teen group almost two decades ago.

    The event featured a meet and greet by St. Columban member Steve Ellis, a keynote address by Rev. Royce Winters from the Church of the Resurrection in Bond Hill, entertainment, and readings of original poetry.

    Entertainment was provided by Oxford Gourd Drum Ensemble/Cincinnati Drum and Tribal Dance, the choir from Calvary United Methodist Church, and the Heavenly Expressions praise dancers from Milford Ebenezer Baptist Church. Loveland Magazine and Loveland Kroger were sponsors of the event.

    Potluck Dinner – Bring your favorite dish to share as you join your neighbors in celebrating the birthday of one of America’s most important spiritual and inspirational leaders.

    Loveland, Ohio –  Each year, The Loveland Initiative is the proud host of the only community-wide Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in Loveland. This year, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration (The Loveland Initiative, Social Action Commission, and Living Peace & Justice) combined their efforts in organizing the 2018 celebration.

    Building on the theme— “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character.”  ~Martin Luther King Jr. (1963) — The event will feature a meet and greet, keynote address, entertainment, and readings. 

    The event will be held at ST. COLUMBAN PARISH HALL 894 Oakland Rd. Loveland, OH from 5 until 8 PM on Sunday, January 14. Special Thanks to our sponsors, Loveland Magazine for their promotional support, Loveland Kroger donation and both planning committees at St. Columban.

    The Loveland Initiative is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization and has been in the community for over 20 years. We are dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in Loveland. Our programs help lower income residents meet basic needs along with educational enrichment. We are a need based, all volunteer, mission focused, and community based organization.

    Neal Oury aspires to serve our community

    After being asked many times by several people, I have decided to run for Loveland’s City Council. It is time to give back to the community where I was raised and currently live. I remember Loveland before I-71 or I-275 existed. Loveland was rural, quaint, quiet and residents were involved in their community. Today, Loveland is still quaint, with many changes. The railroad track is now the Bike Trail, Rolke’s is now a multi use development, the Crist Theater is now the Loveland Stage Company. The current Loveland Early Childhood Center was Lloyd Mann School, where I attended starting in the 2nd grade.

    My father worked at the railroad tower that was located behind today’s Cindy’s Tavern. I remember going to work with him, watching him pull large wooden levers in order to switch the tracks. We saved cardboard milk cartons for Harry Andrews to make the bricks to build the Loveland Castle. As a child; I played LYO baseball, enjoyed Eats & Treats candy store and shopped at Millitzer’s that was our “mall” located where Pizazz’s is today.

    My wife Lynn of 34 years and I have lived in our Loveland home for thirty years where we raised our two children. We are parishioners at St. Columban Parish where I served on Parish Council and as Chairperson, Spiritual Director for the Christ Renews His Parish program, coached girls & boys basketball and volunteered with the HANDS program. I have maintained a Real Estate Brokers License since 1980 and started my business in 1984. I served as Secretary, Treasurer, President, Past President for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Apartment Association. I have managed portfolios in excess of 7000 units, as well as, for Fortune 500 Companies. I served on the Loveland Finance Committee, volunteered with the Loveland Farmers Market, The Loveland Amazing Race, the Loveland Stage Co. and Lowe’s Heros. I was awarded the Business Enhancement Award from the City of Loveland in 2005. My company rebuilt Loveland Stage Company after the devastating fire in. 2008.

    Communication with people is important to me. Understanding your concerns and opinions on issues, programs and development will help move our community in the direction WE desire. Together we can make it happen through dialogue and resident engagement. Transparency will be visible as we openly discuss future development and other priorities. I envision neighborhood meetings to openly listen to what’s on your mind. I want to get to know resident and personally inviting neighborhood representatives to attend council meetings.

    If elected, as a member of Loveland’s City Council, I will listen and respect the opinions of all council members. I will bring to this body a skill set of organization, rational decision making and a inclination to detail with honesty, common sense and integrity.

    I ask for your vote November 7th.
