    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland High School wraps up a special Winter Sports Season. Loveland teams had many great accomplishments that were earned by the great individual and team efforts.

    Final ECC Standings for all teams include:

    • Men’s Basketball, tied 4th (with Milford)
    • Women’s Basketball, tied 3rd (with Kings)
    • Wrestling, 2nd
    • Men’s Swimming, 5th
    • Women’s Swimming, 4th
    • Men’s Bowling, 4th
    • Women’s Bowling, tied 2nd (with Milford)

    The updated All-Sports trophy standings are as follows:

    Loveland has won the All-Sports trophy 4 out of the 6 years that the ECC has existed and looks to make it 5 out of 7 with a win this year.

    Jillian Hayes was named AP All Southwest Ohio 2nd Team in basketball.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Winter Sports season is upon us and the Loveland Men’s Basketball team is looking forward to their upcoming season..

    The Loveland Men’s Basketball team is Coached by Rob Reis. Coach Reis is in his fourth year of coaching at Loveland and holds a 29-41 record over his first three years, including a playoff win over Amelia. After a 5-18 season last year, Loveland looks to get back on track this season.

    Loveland is led by Seniors, Jalen Greiser and Matthew Toigo. Jalen was named First team all ECC last season and averaged 13.5 points per game, 5.1 rebounds a game (1.3 offensive) and  2.4 assists per game. Matthew was named Honorable Mention

    all ECC last season and averaged 9.5 points per game and 2.3 rebounds a game. Also look for Senior Tripp Willis and Junior Alec Soth to have big impacts this season. Tripp was named Second Team all ECC last season and averaged 8.0 points per game, and 4.3 rebounds a game. Alec averaged 4.6 points per game last year and 2.2 rebounds a game.

    The Loveland Tigers match up against the Wolves of West Clermont in a meaningful conference game tonight. For Loveland ( 5-16, 3-10 conf) this game could jump start some momentum going into the postseason. For West Clermont (14-6, 8-5 conf) this game could boost their standings in the ECC as the Wolves from West Clermont are even in the standings with the Milford Eagles.

    For the second straight night Loveland matches up against West Clermont, this time at West Clermont.

    Last night’s game resulted in a 60 to 39 win for West Clermont with West Clermont shooting 52.4% from the field and Loveland shooting 26.0% from the field.




    Jalen Greiser lead the way for the Tigers last night with 11 points on 2 of 9 shooting (5-6 from the line).

    For Loveland Jalen Greiser lead the way with 11 points on 2 of 9 shooting (5-6 from the line). For West Clermont Jay Tiemeyer had 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting ( 3 of 3 from 3).  West Clermont also won the battle of the boards yesterday out rebounding Loveland 40 to 24. West Clermont Sophomore Center Jackson Ames (6’9) had 9 rebounds in last night’s game. For Loveland Juniors Jalen Greiser and Tripp Willis both had 5 rebounds in last night’s game.

    For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser who averages 13.6  points per game on 40.9% shooting. For Loveland look for Junior Guard Matt Toigo who averages 9.4 points per game on 51.4% shooting (44.0% from 3). Also for Loveland look for Junior Forward Tripp Willis who averages 7.9 points per game on 40.7% shooting. Tripp also averages 4.4 rebounds a game (1.0 offensive) and 1.2 blocks a game.

    For West Clermont look for Senior Guard Jay Tiemeyer who averages 16.4 points per game on 47.5% shooting (44.2% from 3). Also look for Senior Forward Dallas Padgitt who averages 9.6 points per game on 50.7% shooting. Dallas also averages 5.1 rebounds a game (1.3 offensive) and is shooting 69.2% from the line.

    Overall: West Clermont by 8

    This rare Thursday night mens basketball is a make-up game. It will be played in the Loveland gym at 7:30 PM. The Tigers also play the Wolves in the regular season finale on Friday at 7:30 when they travel to West Clermont High School.

    The Loveland Tigers match up against the Wolves of West Clermont in a meaningful conference game on Thursday. For Loveland ( 5-15, 3-9 conf) this game could jump start some momentum going into the postseason.     The Loveland Tigers (5-14, 3-8 conf) face off against the Walnut Hills Eagles (15-5, 11-1 conf) in an important conference game on Tuesday, February 13. The game is in the Tiger gym at 7:30 PM.

    On the line for Loveland is the ability to keep their sole possession of 6th in the conference. While for Walnut Hills is the ability to win the outright conference title.

    Withrow outlasts Loveland, 57-49

    Loveland Varsity Boys lost to Withrow on Friday, February 2, 57-49, after Withrow asserted its height advantage in the fourth quarter.

    Loveland used 93% free-throw shooting to keep the game close all night. But after a fiercely competitive third quarter in which sophomore Ian Cox scored seven points and Junior Tripp Willis added six, Withrow’s 6’11” Abba Lawal took over on the boards in the final stanza to key a definitive 10-2 run.

    Junior Gabe Rubio led Loveland with 12 points and six rebounds. Willis and Cox finished with 10 and 9 points, respectively. Senior Austin Huynh swished a crowd-pleasing 35-foot shot as time expired.

    Withrow’s Mike Hill, Jr., led all scorers with 21.

    Fall in OT, 43-41 to Anderson

    Loveland Varsity Boys fell at Anderson in overtime, 43-41 on Friday, February 9 after a controversial non-shooting foul call with 2.2 seconds left allowed Anderson to hit two game-winning free throws. 

    Junior Tripp Willis posted a double-double for the Tigers, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 11 points, including 8 straight in the first half. Junior Jalen Greiser scored 10 points and sophomore Alec Soth added 8.

    Loveland hosts Walnut Hills (Feb 13) and West Clermont (Feb 15), then travels to West Clermont for the regular-season finale (Feb 16).

    The Loveland men are on the road Friday to Anderson. Game time is 7:30 PM. 

    The Loveland Tigers (5-13, 3-7 conf) match up against the Anderson Redskins (8-10, 6-5 conf), in an all important conference game. Loveland looks to get back on track, while Anderson looks to continue their recent success. In Anderson’s last three games they have two “quality” wins over the Withrow Tigers and Walnut Hills Eagles. The first time around Anderson got the better of Loveland with a 40-37 Win.

    Jalen Greiser was injured in the recent game against the Withrow Tigers. He is ready for a return match with Anderson. He scored 13 against Anderson on January 5th.

    For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser who is coming back from an injury that occured against the Withrow Tigers. Jalen averages 14.6 points per game on 41.9% shooting. Jalen also averages 5.8 rebounds (1.2 offensive) and 3.2 assists per game. For Loveland look for Junior Guard Matt Toigo who averages 10.0 points per game on 54.0% shooting (47.8% from 3). Also for Loveland look for Junior Forward Tripp Willis who averages 8.1 points per game on 44.1% shooting. Tripp has put up 26 points in the last two games, shooting 9 of 22 (40.9% from the field), as well as 9 rebounds and is 7 for 7 from the line.

    For Anderson look for Senior Guard Drew Huxtable who averages 12.4 points per game on 37.6% shooting. Also for Anderson look for 6’8 Senior Center Hunter Bode who averages 10.1 points per game on 47.7% shooting. Hunter also averages 8.5 rebounds a game (2.5 offensive) as well as 3.1 blocks per game.

    In a rematch, the Loveland Men (3-6, 5-11) look to get back on track, while the Withrow Tigers (7-3, 9-8) look to continue their successful season.

    For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser. Jalen averages 15.3 points per game on 43% shooting (37% from 3). Jalen also averages 5.9 rebounds a game and 3.3 assists. Also look for Junior Guard Matthew Toigo who averages 9.8 points per game and shoots 48.3% from 3. On the glass look for Junior Forward Tripp Willis, Tripp averages 7.3 points per game and 3.8 rebounds.

    For Withrow look for 7’0 Junior Abba Lawal, Abba averages 9.9 points per game and 11.6 rebounds (4.1 offensive). Also look for Junior Forward Mike Hill Jr.  Mike averages 11.6 points per game on 36.4% shooting and averages 5.6 rebounds a game.

    In the first meeting Loveland was without Juniors Tripp Willis and Jalen Greiser, both were out with injuries. The First meeting resulted with a 44-24 Withrow Win, In this second meeting expect it to be a closer game.
