    [Photo Albums] Tiger basketball claims 2nd in ECC after easy win over Anderson

    CORRECTION: The game against Kings Thursday, January 26 is at Kings High School.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Women (10-3, 14-4) climbed into second place in the ECC after their Senior Night victory over Anderson Monday, 47-34.

    Behind the Tigers is Kings (10-3, 13-5). The Tigers beat Kings 46-45 in overtime on December 12 and the rivalry rekindles this Thursday when the Knights come to Loveland for a showdown at 7:30 PM. (CORRECTION: The game against Kings Thursday, January 26 is at Kings High School.)

    Loveland is on a 7-game win streak. They beat Lebanon on the road 38-33 last Thursday and defeated Indian Hills in the Braves’ gym 46-30 last Wednesday.

    Loveland’s Freshman Katy Wilber drained five threes in the first half at Indian Hill and finished with two more in the second to lead all scorers with 21. Olivia Raby scored 11.

    Josie Early led all scorers in her Senior Night performance with 15, she pulled down 6 rebounds and collected 5 steals.

    The Tigers have a non-conference home game at 2 PM this Saturday against Springboro and travel to West Clermont on Monday, January 30. Undefeated West Clermont (13-19, 19-0) stands in the Tiger’s way of winning the conference. The Wolves are rated the #4 team in Ohio. The Tigers came within 6 of beating West Clermont on December 15. It was one of West Clermont’s closest games.

    [Photo Album] It’s called a heartbreaker

    These photos were taken on Friday, January 11 when the Loveland men’s basketball team traveled to West Clermont High School. The Tigers lost in a 2X overtime heartbreaker, in a very hard-fought game by both the Wolves and Tigers.

    Matt Toigo with 19 and Jalen Greiser with 18 led the Loveland scoring. Jackson Ames scored 28 for the Wolves.

    Turpin (6-1, 10-2) remains in 1st place in the ECC, with Loveland 2nd, followed by Walnut Hills and West Clermont; all three with idential 5-2, 9-4 records.

    The Tigers host Anderson (1-6, 2-10) on Friday for Hall of Fame Night.

    The Loveland Tigers match up against the Wolves of West Clermont in a meaningful conference game tonight. For Loveland ( 5-16, 3-10 conf) this game could jump start some momentum going into the postseason. For West Clermont (14-6, 8-5 conf) this game could boost their standings in the ECC as the Wolves from West Clermont are even in the standings with the Milford Eagles.

    For the second straight night Loveland matches up against West Clermont, this time at West Clermont.

    Last night’s game resulted in a 60 to 39 win for West Clermont with West Clermont shooting 52.4% from the field and Loveland shooting 26.0% from the field.




    Jalen Greiser lead the way for the Tigers last night with 11 points on 2 of 9 shooting (5-6 from the line).

    For Loveland Jalen Greiser lead the way with 11 points on 2 of 9 shooting (5-6 from the line). For West Clermont Jay Tiemeyer had 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting ( 3 of 3 from 3).  West Clermont also won the battle of the boards yesterday out rebounding Loveland 40 to 24. West Clermont Sophomore Center Jackson Ames (6’9) had 9 rebounds in last night’s game. For Loveland Juniors Jalen Greiser and Tripp Willis both had 5 rebounds in last night’s game.

    For Loveland look for Junior Guard Jalen Greiser who averages 13.6  points per game on 40.9% shooting. For Loveland look for Junior Guard Matt Toigo who averages 9.4 points per game on 51.4% shooting (44.0% from 3). Also for Loveland look for Junior Forward Tripp Willis who averages 7.9 points per game on 40.7% shooting. Tripp also averages 4.4 rebounds a game (1.0 offensive) and 1.2 blocks a game.

    For West Clermont look for Senior Guard Jay Tiemeyer who averages 16.4 points per game on 47.5% shooting (44.2% from 3). Also look for Senior Forward Dallas Padgitt who averages 9.6 points per game on 50.7% shooting. Dallas also averages 5.1 rebounds a game (1.3 offensive) and is shooting 69.2% from the line.

    The Loveland women are on the road Saturday to West Clermont. Game time is 6 PM. 

    The Loveland Tigers (17-3, 10-3 conf) face off with the West Clermont Wolves (14-7, 10-3 conf) in an all important ECC battle. The first time around Loveland got the better of West Clermont with a 68 to 67 win.

    For Loveland look for Sophomore Forward Jillian Hayes who averages 15.4 points per game on 47.5% shooting. Jillian also averages 8.4 rebounds per game (4.0 offensive), as well as 3.2 steals a game and 1.4 blocks a game. Also for Loveland look for Sophomore Guard Kate Garry who averages 9.6 points per game on 34.3% shooting.

    For West Clermont look for Senior Guard Jasmine Hale who averages 12.6 points per game on 48.7% shooting. Jasmine also averages 3.0 assists per game and 1.8 steals a game.     Loveland, Ohio -The Tiger women came from an 8 point 3rd quarter deficit on Saturday for a 1-point win over then, 2nd place West Clermont. Loveland moved up a spot in ECC standings with the win. The Conference leader is still Walnut Hills (6-0, 11-1). Loveland is now 6-1 and 11-1. West Clermont is now 5-1, 9-4 and moved down to 3rd place with the loss.

    Loveland led after one quarter by 6 but relinquished the lead when the Wolves scored 25, giving them a 3 point advantage going into the locker room. West Clermont added to their lead to make it an 8-point lead outscoring the Tigers by 4 in the 3rd period. A 20-12 scoring advantage in the final quarter gave Loveland the come from behind win in the final seconds of play.

    Jasmine Hale scored 18 and Dakota Reeves scored 16 to lead the Wolves. Reves put down 4 three-pointers.

    The Tiger scoring was led by Jillian Hayes with her game-high 19 and 10 rebounds. Madi McDermott scored 17, including 2-2 from the 3-point arc. Kate Garry ended the game with 11, including 2 three-pointers.

    The women Tigers take to the court next on Saturday at 2 PM when they travel to Turpin High School (3-1, 8-5).

    Walnut Hills hammers and hands Tigers 1st loss

    Loveland, Ohio – The physical, aggressive Walnut Hills defense, unchecked by the officials and unadjusted to by the Tigers took its toll in the Walnut Hills’ 2nd and 3rd quarter hammering on Wednesday. Final score 66-40. The Eagles’ 41 to 25 rebounding advantage, 6 blocked shots, 17 steals, and the Tiger’s 30 turnovers were also deciding.

    As would have been expected, the Eagles’ Kennedi Myles led all scores with 21 points and 15 rebounds. She leads the ECC in scoring average with 16.5.

    The league’s second-leading scorer, Tiger, Jillian Hayes (15.9) ended the game with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Courtney Henthorn scored 9, Kate Garry 8, and Colleen Swift scored 7.

    Loveland led by 1 at the end of the 1st quarter, but an unproductive 4-point 2nd was momentum losing when Walnut Hills scored 16. Walnut Hills upped the ante with a 22-9, 3rd quarter. Both teams played evenly in the fourth but the game had gotten out of hand with the Tigers down by 24 when it started.

    Walnut Hills, now undefeated in conference play took the top spot in the ECC away from Loveland (5-1, 10-1). West Clermont who Loveland hosts Saturday at 2 PM dropped the Tigers to 3rd with their 5-0 record after beating Anderson 64-32 on Wednesday.

    West Clermont is #6 and Loveland #7 in the Cincinnati Area Coaches Poll.
