The Ohio High School Athletic Association has postponed Saturday’s state cross country tournament and is moving the championships to Saturday, Nov. 10, due to flooding conditions on the course at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass has announced.

Loveland High School Freshman Jessie Gibbins has advanced to the OHSAA State XC Meet by finishing in 22nd place in the Regional meet Saturday in Troy. Her time was 19:06.27.

The race was previously scheduled for Saturday, November 3.

The send-off for Gibbons from the High School has also been rescheduled.

We will be sending her off on FRIDAY, at 9:05 am. Please have your class step into the hallway, outside of your classroom, for the send off parade.  Jessie, her Regional teammates and coaches and the drumline will come to every floor. starting at 9:05 am.  Please have your class, out in the hallway, to cheer her on.

“While I wholeheartedly understand the impact this move has for all those involved in the event, this is the best solution for the safety and well-being of our participating student-athletes,” Snodgrass said. “National Trail Raceway has closed the course due to flooding with the on-going rain we have had in central Ohio, so the conditions will hopefully be much better by next weekend.”
