Senior linebacker and Ohio University commit Eric Popp pursues the Withrow ball carrier

The Loveland Tigers improved to 3-4 in season play and evened their record in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference at 2-2 with a 50-0 trouncing of Withrow last Friday.

Twenty-one first downs vs. 6, and 354 yards vs. 86 pretty much is the sum of the game, except for the 50-0 score, which could have been much higher without the merciful, stop the “Running Clock Rule” which made for a very fast game. When a second-half score differential reaches 30 points the clock only stops during an official’s timeout, a charged timeout, the end of a period, or after a score.

Loveland’s defense held Withrow to 22 ground yards. Eric Popp, senior linebacker and Captain, recorded nine total tackles, three-and-a-half tackles for loss, and two sacks.

Loveland Junior Luke Waddell ran 16 times for 250 yards on the ground, had an 11-yd. reception, and scored 5 TD’s.
