Loveland had previously beaten Anderson 3-0 in September, but the team opted to take on higher-seeded Loveland. Anderson ended third in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, with a conference 3-1-3 win-loss-tie. Loveland holds 7-0-0 win-loss-tie in the ECC.

By halftime, both teams were deadlocked with a score of 0-0. However, towards the beginning of the second half, Loveland’s Ashlin McGill scored the first goal of the game. With ten minutes remaining, Brooke Harden scored the second goal. With less than three minutes, Loveland scored their final and third goal. Anderson failed to score.
