A detour will be in place

The Clermont County Engineer’s Office provided an update on the improvements taking place in the Branch-Hill Guinea Road area:

  •  The water main replacement work will be completed on Tuesday, April 5, weather permitting.
  • The reconstruction and paving of Branch Hill-Guinea Road will begin on Wednesday, April 6. A detour will be required while this work is taking place and will last until Tuesday, May 10, weather permitting. A map is provided below.

This work is part of the Branch Hill-Guinea Road Drainage Improvements Project, which consists of drainage improvements and widening along Branch Hill-Guinea Road between Branch Hill-Loveland and Branch Hill-Miamiville Road.

Phase 1: Work to replace a deteriorated section of water main between Branch Hill-Loveland and Branch Hill-Miamiville Road will begin.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Traffic was reduced to one lane with the use of flaggers during work hours.

TIMING: Expected completion: Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Phase 2: Following the completion of the above water main replacement work, the roadway improvements will begin, including the reconstruction and paving of Branch Hill-Guinea Road.

Improvements will include 12’ travel lanes and 2’ shoulders, as well as curb and gutter work. (The existing lane width is 10’ with little to no shoulder room and deep roadside ditches.)

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: This work will require a full closure of Branch Hill-Guinea Road between Branch Hill-Loveland Road and Branch Hill-Miamiville Road. A detour will be in place that directs traffic from Branch Hill-Guinea Road to Wards Corner Road to I-275 to Loveland-Madeira Road. [See map.]

TIMING: Start date: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

Expected completion: Tuesday, May 10, 2016
