Dear Loveland Magazine Readers,
The flowers along the West Loveland Avenue Bridge and throughout the City of Loveland are a testimony to the spirit and dedication of community volunteers to brighten up our city. Kudos to the fifteen plus volunteers who, under the guidance of Brittany Byrd -owner of Loveland-based Home Grown Flowers- designed, planted, and replanted the colorful floral displays. Kudos as well to the many dedicated volunteers who over the years have contributed greatly to this goal of keeping Loveland beautiful.
Sadly the volunteers had to replant the boxes on the bridges twice due to vagrancy. This was no problem though given the dogged commitment of the volunteers and generous offer by Loveland resident and “ambassador” Dale Eads (owner of Loveland Hardware) to donate flowers and his staff’s valuable time for the replanting…..just in time for the Loveland 4th of July Celebration. A special shout out goes to Loveland Hardware staff Rhonda Walters and Neal Oury who worked side-by-side with the volunteers and to the Loveland Public Works Department for watering and maintaining the flowers.
Every time I see those pretty flowers over the bridge I am reminded of the deep roots and resiliency of Loveland volunteers!

Next it will be Tartars, Goths, Visigoths, Huns and Gepids. Oh the invading hordes that may come. Maybe they’ll scare away some of these greedy developers and Loveland can have its train whistle back?
Ok that Is admittedly very funny. I meant to say vandals!
What? There were uncooperative homeless plants that wouldn’t stay in their boxes?
