Picnic shelter and cruiser camera improvements

Loveland, Ohio – The City has been awarded an Ohio Department of Natural Resources, NatureWorks Grant to repair the Nisbet Park Picnic Shelter. The project includes the removal and replacement of the picnic shelter’s decaying foundation both under the shelter and the adjacent uncovered patio area. The project includes a correction of the drainage problem through the construction of a retaining wall, trench drain, gutters and downspouts. The existing shelter structure will not be replaced due to its good condition.

The total grant award is $19,050 with the city supplying a local match of $6,350 for a total project cost of $25,400.

The Loveland Police Department has been awarded a grant from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services for the purchase of six mobile video recorders (MVR), six rear mounted cameras, and one wireless access point. In a press release, the City says the grant will replace and upgrade six of the department’s nine recorders. and the addition of the included wireless access point will reduce supervisory time as video from the MVR’s will be automatically downloaded. The new MVR’s are equipped for the addition of body worn cameras if added in the future. The total grant award is $15,269, with the city supplying a local match of $5,090 for a total project cost of $20,359.
