Loveland City Schools increase security district-wide
Funds to make improvements at all buildings result of Ohio School Facilities Commission School Security Grant Program
Loveland, Oh. – The Loveland City School District announced today it has received a $5,000-per-building state grant for the primary purpose of providing front entry door security. District administrators worked with each building to tailor individual plans to make optimum security upgrades.
“The district strives to be as open and welcoming as possible,” said John Ames, business manager. “All secretaries and receptionists plan to operate their entryways as they have in the past with the door being open during the school day. However, the new security measures give those professionals the ability to secure the doors on a moment’s notice should the need arise.”
Loveland High School
A camera will be installed outside with a wide-angle view of the exterior sidewalk. Both the receptionist and the attendance clerk will have a monitor installed to permit them to see, at a glance, who is arriving. The attendance clerk and receptionist will have the ability to lock-down the building with the push of a button.
Loveland Middle School/Loveland Intermediate School
A camera will be installed outside each entry door with a wide-angle view of the exterior sidewalk. Both receptionists and the secretary will have monitors installed to permit them to see, at a glance, who is arriving. The receptionists and secretary will have the ability to lock-down the building with the push of a button. In addition, a door chime will be installed to alert the secretaries and receptionists that a door has been pulled open should they not be looking at the door at that moment. The plan will also have a two-way call button with a built-in camera located outside both main doors. This will permit the door to be locked, if need be, yet give the secretary or receptionists the ability to “buzz” the person in. This will be helpful for before or after school hours and during the summer when access is limited.
Loveland Elementary School/Loveland Primary School/Loveland Early Childhood Center
