Now Available at PD for Uwanted, Expired or Unused Prescription Drugs

Miami Township, Ohio – The Miami Township Police Department has announced a prescription drug collection point at the department, located at 5900 McPicken Drive.

Miami Township promotes the importance of safe drug utilization, in order to decrease the risk of drug abuse and overdose.

Medicines unsecured in the home can cause confusion and medication misuse, resulting in serious health implications for adults and children. Medicines disposed of by flushing into the sewage system or placing into landfills may have serious environmental health consequences. This program gives residents a safe drop-off site for unwanted medications.

Individuals may dispose of unwanted, expired, unused prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications in the secure, mailbox-style drop box during normal business hours of 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays.

The disposal of syringes, liquids, inhalers, lotions and ointments are prohibited.
