Loveland High School Junior named one of America’s Top Five High School Youth Volunteers and winner of the Prudential Spirit of Community National Award

Loveland, Oh. – Loveland High School (LHS) Junior, Morlan Osgood who has been named one of America’s Top Five High School Youth Volunteers and winner of the Prudential Spirit of Community National Award. Osgood’s outstanding achievement was officially recognized with a Proclamation by Mayor Linda Cox and the City of Loveland at the annual LHS Celebration of Tiger Excellence Awards Thursday, May 21, in the LHS Auditorium.

Superintendent Chad Hilliker presented Osgood with the prestigious recognition in front of a packed auditorium which included Osgood’s peers, teachers and family members.

“Morlan Osgood has brought so much to the youth in not only our community but also to students throughout Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota and the District of Columbia through her family’s STEMs for Youth organization,” said Superintendent Chad Hilliker. “It is simply amazing that Morlan helps coordinate and host seven summer camps and six after-school classes in addition to keeping up with her own studies. We are so proud of all she has accomplished.”

Osgood is the first student from Cincinnati to be honored as a National Winner in the 20 year history of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Osgood’s STEMs for Youth program has helped some 14,000 students in grades 2-12 develop their interest and skills in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and math).
