“Hello everyone,
This June 4th I, along with others from my school, will walk in The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. All contributions go directly to The American Cancer Society to fight this horrible disease. Unfortunately, this past year has opened my eyes in realizing just how devastating this disease can be. So many of my dear friends have had this disease affect their families and now a family member of my own will start her own battle. I am asking for contributions or if you like, you may buy a luminary ($5) to be lit on June 4th in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one in your life. Checks can be made out to The American Cancer Society and mailed directly to me or Cynthia Tait c/o Loveland Early Childhood Center, 6740 Loveland Miamiville Rd., Loveland, Ohio 45140. Thank you all in advance, and hopefully someday our lives will be without cancer. Love to you all, Jen Smith.”

Community Businesses Support Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society and the Loveland Community have reason to celebrate! Businesses in the Loveland area are supporting the fight against cancer with very generous donations. The Relay begins on Friday, June 4th at 6:00 pm with the survivor’s lap and goes for eighteen hours till noon on Saturday. Meijers is a Presenting Sponsor at $1000.00. Lykins Oil, Indiana Insurance and Provident Bank are Super Hero sponsors with $500.00 donations. Financial Network Group and MVD Communications are Friend Sponsors at $100.00. GeoTech Pattern & Mold and Investor’s Property Mgt. Co at the $500.00 level are sponsoring teams of walkers. The Gillespies from McDonalds gave a gift of $100.00.
The Relay for Life is also a celebration! Survivors will walk the first lap to the cheers of loved ones and enjoy a dinner in the Survivor’s Tent immediately after. If you or anyone you know is a cancer survivor, please contact Jamie Webb at the American Cancer Society at 891-1600 for more information. Many area businesses have made donations to the “Party With a Purpose” with food for the teams of hungry walkers, as well as prizes for the many fun games and contests.
How can you help? If you can’t walk at the event, come enjoy the fun. The theme this year is “Lights, Camera, Taking Action against Cancer” and the campsites will be decorated in the Hollywood theme. Everything from “Hollywood Massages” to “Get Your Picture Taken with the Stars” will be offered. “Survivor” favorite, Lil, will be on site to offer her support. If you can’t make it to the event, you may visit local businesses and drop your extra change in the Relay for Life canisters. Those businesses include: Curves, US Bank, Bank One, Provident Bank, and Lebanon Citizens Bank. Thanks again to the community, team members, and the great support of Loveland businesses!
