  • Loveland High School’s 2019 Fall Athletes’ and Coaches Receive Multiple ECC Awards

    Loveland, OhioIt’s no secret to the Loveland community that Loveland High School is home to some of Ohio’s top athletes! The Loveland Tigers had quite the 2019 Fall sports season in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference collecting 5 conference titles, 4 Coach of the Year titles, 2 Athlete of the Year titles and several All-Conference First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention accolades.

    With all of the victories and accolades, Loveland High School Athletics has put on the board for the 2019 Season thus far puts the Tigers at the number 1 spot with 62 points for the ECC All-Sports Trophy, which is one of the highest honors the ECC bestows. With the 2019 Fall sports season coming to an end there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that winning the ECC All-Sports Trophy may, in fact, be in Loveland High School’s near future! 

    The Eastern Cincinnati Conference released the teams, athletes, and coaches that were awarded All ECC honors on their website for the 2019 Fall sports season. Below Loveland Magazine collected the results for each Loveland High School Fall sports team that received ECC honors. At this time Football ECC awards have not been posted.

    Loveland Tigers place 6th in Women’s State Division I Cross Country Championships

    Hebron, Ohio – The Loveland Women’s Cross Country Team made school history Saturday as they competed for the first time in years as a team for the Women’s State Division 1 Cross Country Championship. The race included 183 runners and took place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at National Trail Raceway 5K Course. The Lady Loveland Tigers earned 212 points placing 6th out 20 of teams. Finishtiming.com provided the unofficial race results, which are listed below. OHSAA has yet to post the official final race results.

    30 Jessie Gibbins – 18:53

    LHS Women XC Team is headed to STATE

    Loveland, Ohio – “Congratulations to our girls cross country team on their fantastic season,” said Brian Conaster the Loveland High School Athletic Director.

    The Loveland High School Women’s cross country team qualified to compete for the Division I State Championship which will take place on Saturday, at the National Trail Raceway, in Hebron. The Women’s Division I race is at 12:30 PM.

    The Tigers placed 3rd in the Regional tournament this past Saturday at Troy High School. The 2019 state-bound Tigers team will consist of Emmy Sager, Jessie Gibbins, Sarah Madix, Ellie Carr, Audrey O’Keefe, Allyson Colegate, and Ansley Richards. Alternate Runners if needed will be, Maaike Snider, Ellie Zicka, Bella Dillhoff, and Skyler Daumeyer. Leading the Tigers to state will be head coach Steve Nester.

    “Our girls dedicated themselves to run against some of the toughest competition, not only in the state of Ohio but other top programs of other states too. They understand what it takes to be the best and are committed to getting there. They worked hard to be better than last year and have now set the new Tiger standard of excellence. Best of luck at State” added Conaster.

    The last time Loveland runners qualified as a team was in 2007 so this year will definitely be making Tiger school history!

    National Trail Raceway is located at 2650 National Road SW Hebron, OH 43025

    School transportation and spectators should enter Gate A off State Route 40 and follow parking coordinator directions to designated parking.

    School spirit signs are permitted to be placed on facility fencing. Recommendation is for zip tied material. Taping of signs is not recommended.

    Spectator vehicles traveling from the east should exit I-70 at Exit 126 Rt. 37N entering the Campground Gate or Gate A on Route 40. When traveling from the west spectators must exit I-70 at Exit 122 Rt. 158N. Turn right onto Route 40. Enter Gate D. After parking for free, admission into the facility is $10.00 for all school age and older. Handicapped registered vehicles will enter Gate D from State Route 40. Recreational Vehicles wishing to set up tailgating inside the competition grounds should use exit 126 from I-70 and proceed to Gate A on Route 40. A $25.00 parking fee will be taken at Gate A. Spectator admission ($10.00) will also be taken at the gate. Vehicles will park inside the meet facility with tailgating space available for each RV unit. Recreation Vehicles may park in the Campground lot outside the competition area without paying the parking fee, but due to limited parking spaces, RV tailgating is not permitted in the main parking lots.

    Loveland Cross Country Teams Run Like Tigers In the Last Two Competitive Meets

    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland High School is not a stranger to having successful student-athletes, but this year two Tiger teams have been taking the cross country world by storm! Loveland’s Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country Teams proved all their summer workouts paid off in both The Loveland Invitational and Mason Invite finishing both meets in the top 2 with several individual PRs.

    The Loveland Invitational, which took place on the morning of August 31st at the Home of the Brave Park, turned out to be another beautiful meet with many great performances by the Tigers! The Boy’s Cross Country Team finished 2nd out of 19 teams with a total of 71 points. Sophomore Ryan Chevalier was the top Tiger finisher, crossing the finish line in 3rd place with a time of 16:28. Senior Kyle Griffin took the 11th place spot finishing with a time of 17:09, Sophomore Sam Neiger finished 12th with a time of 17:13, Senior Alex Ditchen finished 23rd with a 17:34, Junior Ajay Stutz finished in 24th with a time of 17:37, Junior Colin Beran finished with a 17:52 in 31st place and Senior Sam Dippold rounded off the top 7 Tiger finishers with a 17:57 in 38th place. 

    The Girls Cross Country Team ran an impressive race at The Loveland Invitational as well finishing in 1st place out of 12 teams with a score of 36 points! Sophomore Emmy Sager finished first for the Tigers running an 18:49 earning her a 3rd place finish. Finishing close behind in 5th place was Sophomore Sarah Madix with a time of 19:37, Junior Ansley Richards in 6th place with a time of 19:44, Junior Ellie Carr in 10th place with a time of 20:02, Senior Nami Cannon in 13th place with a time of 20:26, Sophomore Audrey O’Keefe in 16th place with a time of 20:36 and Freshman Ally Colegate 22nd place with a time of 20:47. Out of the Tigers top 7 finishers, 6 were in the top 15 overall! Below is a video of the start of the Loveland Invitational that was captured by a Tiger fan!

    After the Loveland Invitational, the Tigers Girls and Boys Cross Country Team got some state-wide recognition in the Ohio Division 1 State Cross Country Poll!

    On September 7th, the Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams competed again this time at the Mason Invite. Both teams did not disappoint finishing again at the top! The Girls finished in 2nd place out of 32 teams with a total

    of 120 points. Although there were 355 girls in the race that did not stop the Tigers from claiming top finishes and some PRs. Sophomore Emmy Sager finished first for the Tigers crossing the finish line in 14th place with a time of 19:10. The next Tiger finisher was Sophomore Sarah Madix who took the 20th spot with a time of 19:24, followed by Junior Ansley Richards in 23rd with a time of 19:40, Junior Ellie Carr in 28th with a time of 19:59, Senior Nami Cannon in 35th with a time of 20:12, Freshman Ally Colegate with a time of 20:37 in 48th place and Sophomore Bella Dillhoff in 73rd place with a time of 20:59. Cannon, Carr, and Madix all ran personal best times and Richards ran a season personal best time!

    The Boys Cross Country also made a name for themselves at the Mason Invite finishing 6th out of 33 teams. Out of 409 runners Sophomore Ryan Chevalier finished in 18th with a time of 16:39, followed by Senior Kyle Griffin in 35th with a time of 17:03, Junior Ajay Stutz in 53rd with a 17:19, Freshman Brady Steiner in 65th with a time of 17:33, Senior Alex Ditchen in 67th place with a time of 17:34, Sophomore Sam Neiger in 87th with a 17:48 and Senior Sam Dippold in 127th with a time of 18:09.
