    Loveland, Ohio – Join Paxton’s Grill to celebrate an AMAZING 20 YEARS of raising critical funds for CancerFree KIDS!

    The 20th Anniversary golf outing will again be a three-day event. As they done for the past several years, the annual weekend outing will be held Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at Hickory Woods Golf Course.

    The Corporate Outing will be at O’Bannon Creek Golf Club on Monday, July 14th, 2025.

    The mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded.     Since the inception of this event more than 19 years ago the golf outing has raised over $700,000 with the goal this year to exceed our 2024 total and raise over $100,000.

    CancerFree KIDS aims to find more effective and gentler treatments for childhood cancer by funding innovative research projects in the early stages of development. New ideas need money to grow, yet potential breakthrough treatment methods often go unfunded because pediatric cancer research is drastically limited. CancerFree KIDS provides grants to high-risk/high-reward childhood cancer research projects in these crucial early stages, which allows researchers to prove their concept, secure additional funding, and eventually create new treatments for kids.

    An Interview with Julia Wolf: The Wolf Pack’s “Cure Starts Now”

    Loveland, Ohio – “We know Grant is ‘done with cancer’ but not in the way any of us hoped for,” Sara Wolf said in 2021 after losing her son, Grant Wolf at just 7 years old to Medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor in the cerebellum region of the brain.

    Grant’s twin sister, 9-year-old Julia Wolf, has made it her mission to advocate for childhood cancer research in memory of her brother. This will be the third year that Julia’s “Grant for Grant” fundraiser will be raising money with “The Cure Starts Now” for childhood cancer research.

    Julia’s love for stuffed animals was abundantly apparent when immediately after my interview she went to sit with the sock monkey in our studio.

    Julia came up with the idea to fundraise in memory of her brother Grant at his funeral in 2021. Julia had been worried about having a birthday without Grant by her side so she brainstormed and came up with two ideas; donate stuffed dogs to kids with cancer, as she and Grant loved to play with stuffed animals together, and raise money for childhood brain cancer research. Julia’s mom loved the idea and thought what a great way to get “Grant’s Wolf Pack” involved, a group of supporters and advocates for childhood cancer research, and other cancer organizations such as The Cure Starts Now. “She set the fundraising goal at $240. We watched the total grow, and grow and grow and knew that the Grant for Grant fundraiser was going to make a big impact,” Sara said.

    Julia’s first Grant for Grant fundraiser collected $56,000 and the following year the campaign brought in $52,000.

    With Julia and Grant’s 10th birthday coming up and the third year of the Grant for Grant fundraiser in full swing, Julia has been working hard to spread awareness about childhood brain cancer. Julia’s goal this year is to raise at least $50,000 for her A Grant for Grant fundraiser by her and Grant’s birthday on February 11th.

    “Grant was really funny. He loved playing dogs and sports. He was the best twin brother,” Julia said to Loveland Magazine in a 2021 interview, “I really wanted to do something about finding a cure for cancer so that no other kid has to go through these tough times.”

    27 Loveland High School Students raise $7,105 for CancerFree KIDS

    Loveland, Ohio – Nine different teams were formed at Loveland High School in an effort to defeat childhood cancer: Cancer Dancers, Fighting Tigers, Full Send, Kickout Cancer, King Julian, Taffy’s Tots, The Raisas’, Tigers Against Cancer, and Tigers for the Fight.

    More than 650 Tri-State high school students and sponsors joined forces to raise $232,000 as part of CancerFree KIDS’ ninth annual Night for the Fight fundraising effort. This year’s event transformed into a virtual, one-week competition between March 6 – 13 to accommodate social distancing and other COVID-19 safety precautions. Organizers say this year’s event was a “rousing” success.

    “Our students came through for us once again, and we are astounded by their creativity and commitment to childhood cancer research, even when the current pandemic climate forced a big change,” says Jill Brinck, executive director, CancerFree KIDS. “We so appreciate the strong fundraising results, but the bigger win here is hundreds of kids and their collective effort to beat childhood cancer.”

    Averee Martin was the highest fundraiser for Loveland, raising $1,025.

    Chloe Etter, Ella Nagel, Rachel Yeager, Jenna Batsch, Tess Broermann, Babs Dwyer, Sarah Lolli, Sarah, McKenzie, Audrey Neltner, Lauren Poteet, Presley Beller, Mikayla Loomis, Maggie Norris, Emma Thomson, Brooke Richardson, Savannah Rudy, Grace Trombly, Melanie Anastasia, Sky Boyko, Lily Schroeder, Megan Varadachari, Paige Broermann, Ella Madson, Meghan Smith, Elly Steinbrunner, and Alexa Vallee all raised money.

    Traditionally, Night for the Fight is a 12-hour overnight event in which students learn about childhood cancer and take part in games and entertainment throughout the celebration. The 2021 “N4TF Fight Week” evolved into a virtual challenge in which student teams from 37 local high schools competed in scavenger hunt-style challenges by using a special mobile platform to submit photos and videos of their achievements. The 250 challenges ranged from mission-oriented to wacky activities that intend to help encourage children currently battling cancer.

    Clermont County-based TQL Foundation served as presenting sponsor of N4TF: Fight Week for a third year in a row. “Research is a critical component of fighting pediatric cancer, and CancerFree KIDS is leading the charge in that effort,” says Kerry Byrne, president, Total Quality Logistics. “We’re honored to support an effort that strongly aligns with our values and allows students to work toward a common goal.”

    Since its inception in 2013, Night for the Fight has raised more than $1.7 million for childhood cancer research. CancerFree KIDS is a Cincinnati-based non-profit organization that is committed to eradicating cancer as a life-threatening disease. Founded in 2002, the organization has funded more than $6 million in grants for promising research that would otherwise go unfunded.     Loveland, Ohio – Paxton’s Grill located in the heart of the Loveland Historic Downtown area, organizes a 160 person golf outing each year for a local Loveland non-profit Cancer Free Kids.

    Cancer Free Kids is a non-profit dedicated to research of children’s cancer. 

    Ralph Dunnigan, manager & part owner of Paxton’s Grill saw that his customers and staff wanted to be a part of the community. “ We have everybody come through our restaurant and they are such good, nice people, it just felt right to organize a fundraiser for Cancer Free Kids,” he said. “We put our heads together, formed a committee and each year hold a golf event named, Paxton’s Grill Golf Outing. To date, we have raised over $210,000 for Cancer Free Kids for their fight against childhood cancer.” 

    This year the annual golf outing will be at Hickory Woods Golf Course on June 9. “We invite everyone that would like to help raise funds to participate either as a sponsor or play in the tournament to go to our website at www.Paxtonsgrill.com. Players receive amazing goody bag items, a great day of golf, food, fun, beverages, and a silent auction all while helping a great local cause, said Dunnigan.
