    Loveland District Planning Commission meets tonight

    Loveland, Ohio – The full Planning Commission of the Loveland City School District will meet tonight via ZOOM/Youtube. The meeting starts at 6:30 PM.

    Loveland City School District Planning Commission
    The Board of Education has implemented a community-based Planning Commission to be a research and advisory resource for the school district. The Commission will assist the Board by researching and/or evaluating assigned issues and topics, and reporting its findings and recommendations to the Board for consideration. The purpose of the Commission is also to assist the Loveland community in becoming better informed about a variety of issues related to the schools. The Planning Commission has four Sub-Committees:
    Communication/Community Engagement Subcommittee
    Tasked with researching additional, innovative, and alternative ways to increase communication and engagement between the school district and the community. Members include:

    Facilities Subcommittee
    Tasked with understanding the facilities assessments and current master plan, researching ways to revisit the master plan, and recommending a timeline. Members include:

    “Full of Cents” – Business news, but better

    Loveland, Ohio – Loveland native Ricky Mulvey started reporting sports as an eighth-grade paid intern at Loveland Magazine. While at the newspaper he went on to do interviews and be a “Talking Head” at a Barack Obama campaign rally in Cincinnati, and a Joe Biden campaign rally in Milford. He did post-game reports and coach interviews at Loveland High School and kept readers abreast of the career of mixed-martial-artist, and National wrestling champion, Loveland’s Matt “The Hammer” Hamill.

    Mulvey has since graduated from Ohio State and has recently teamed up with David English from Lexington, now a resident of Downtown Cincinnati, to co-host their “Full of Cents” podcast that can be found on the sidebar of Loveland Magazine. The Full of Cents tag line is, “Business news is boring. Let’s make it interesting, fun, and understandable.” There are new episodes streaming every Tuesday and Thursday. Mulvey and English cut through the headlines and talk about how business news affects you.

    Ricky Mulvey is a stand-up comedian, radio producer, and a mid-range threat in any pick-up basketball game. Mulvey loves talking about saving money on tickets, business news, and how e-commerce changed inflation as we know it. He graduated with a finance degree from THE Ohio State University in 2018.

    David English is a Kentucky Wildcat, soccer fanatic, and a credentialed financial professional. He loves spending time with his wife, Amy, and tweeting at people who will probably not interact with him back.

     

    Loveland Magazine jumped at the chance to re-introduce Mulvey to our readers, introduce David English, and promote their podcast with a link where you can listen to Full of Cents right on our side-bar.

    Columnist Cassie Mattia invited English and Mulvey to the LOVELAND MAGAZINE TV studio to ask them why podcasts have become so popular, why people should trust what they say, and how they are making financial news interesting and fun.

The position will report directly to and be responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in overseeing the Finance Department which includes income tax, utility billing, and accounting/budgeting functions.     Meet Tom Smith Loveland’s new Assistant City Manager

    I have been fortunate to receive an opportunity to be part of the great Loveland City team as the new Assistant City Manager.  My wife, Shuree, and I are from Layton, Utah. We have three children: Joshua, 14, Marissa, 9, and Tyson, 5. We enjoy the outdoors, motorcycles, and sports of all kinds.


    I enjoy being active in the community where I have coached soccer, basketball, and served as a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

    Although we are from Utah, the majority of my family resides in Pennsylvania, Virginia, with a sister-in-law in Mason, Ohio. Consequently, I am a Penn State Nittany Lion, University of Virginia Cavalier, and of course a Utah Ute. As part of my formal education I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Utah Valley University and a Graduate Degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah. I have 12 years experience in the field of public administration, including my previous capacity where I served as the City Manager.



    My background is in public policy, land use, utility billing, capital asset management, planning and zoning, budget and finance, and human resource administration.

    I have been an active participant in the Utah League of Cities and Towns organization (similar to the Ohio Municipal League), serving as a member of the Legislative Policy Committee and the Land Use Task Force Committee for three legislative sessions. While on those committees I worked with local officials, lobbyists, and legislators to combat against the scrutiny and continued efforts of federal, state, and third-party organizations in restricting the local government control of municipalities.

    As part of my professional development, I am a member of the International City Managers Association where I am working towards receiving my Credentialed Manager accreditation. My ambitions also include becoming a certified planner through the American Planners Association.

    I am very fortunate to be a part of the City’s team. This is an exciting time for the City as it continues to experience growth and redevelopment. I am grateful to be brought on as a part of this wonderful team that the City Council and City Manager Mr. Kennedy have created. I am both eager and anxious to get started and to develop my relationship with you as well as the wonderful members of this community.
