    Loveland, Ohio – It’s back and better than ever! The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance (LMRCA) will be kicking off the 8th Annual Loveland Food Truck Rally, presented by Wolterman Law, on May 8th from 3 PM to 10 PM at Shopper’s Haven Plaza on Loveland-Madeira Road.

    This year the Loveland Food Truck Rally, both family-friendly and free to attend, will be bringing in over 20 food trucks for the community to enjoy! Guests that attend will have the option to stay and take in the atmosphere by tailgating near their cars with their delicious food or they may take their food and beverages to go. Feel free to bring along your own folding chairs to your tailgating set-up, but please do not bring coolers or outside food and beverages as the Food Truck Rally will have plenty of food for you to enjoy as well as a variety of beer, wine, water, and soda for sale.

    The LMRCA has made COVID-19 safety their top priority so that the community can celebrate the beginning of summer while still feeling safe and at ease! Masks will be required for the event and only may be taken off when seated and consuming food.

    The Loveland Food Truck Rally will also include spectacular nationally recognized live entertainment by The Dan Varner Band! In between live music, at 6 PM, several City of Loveland officials will be present to address previously submitted questions by the community.     LECC 1st-grade student Lilly True selected a Chamber Valentine’s Day Poetry Contest winner

    Loveland, Ohio – LECC first-grade student Lilly True was selected as an age-group winner in the Valentine’s Day Poetry Contest. For 33 years, the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance has been hosting a contest asking for poetry that celebrates Valentine’s Day.

    Lilly True’s submission was selected as one of the winners. Lilly will share her poem with LECC during the video announcements next week. You can watch Lilly recite her poem below.

    Time is here to nominate Valentine Lady and enter Valentine card design contest

    The winning Valentine Card design by Loveland Magazine Publisher David Miller after the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance says they are excited to kick-off the 2021 Valentine Program with the assistance of the Valentine Committee. The Committee is chaired by past Valentine Lady Patricia Furterer and is comprised of some of the Valentine Ladies from past years and other representatives from Loveland.

    Valentine Card designs and all the names of the Valentine Ladies are engraved on granite  walls in Historic Downtown Loveland.

    The committee is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Valentine Lady. Valentine Lady nominees are women who distinguish themselves in community, school, and family endeavors. The Valentine Lady serves as the official spokesperson of the Valentine Program in the Loveland area and helps the Chamber make the 2021 Valentine Program a success.

    The Committee is chaired by past Valentine Lady Patricia Furterer and is comprised of some of the Valentine Ladies from past years and other representatives from Loveland.

    Nominees must reside in the Loveland 45140 zip code, and be able to work with the Chamber January 2, 2021 through the end of February 2021, stamping Valentine cards and visiting area schools, businesses, and other community organizations and participating in area events throughout the year.

    Ohio Sweetheart City Offers Valentine Card Design Contest

    Don’t miss the opportunity to compete in the Annual Valentine Card Design Contest sponsored by the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance. All Tri-State area artists, photographers, high school students, and interested persons are encouraged to participate.

    If you can design a card which pertains to love and Valentine’s Day, and contains the signature slogan, “There is nothing in this world so sweet as love”, submit the original artwork to the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance. 

    “The submission deadline is November 20, 2020 but don’t wait until the last minute and be caught in the holiday rush,” says the Chamber.

    The winning card design will be unveiled at the Valentine Kick-off on January 9, 2021 and will be the official 2021 Valentine card. 

    The card will be for sale at several Loveland area businesses, stores, and other locations. Don’t miss the opportunity to have your design displayed for everyone to admire.

    David Kennedy

    David has been the Loveland City Manager for six years, after serving as the Village Administrator of New Richmond Ohio for twenty five years.  His education includes a Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning form Miami University (Oxford) and a Master’s Degree in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati.  He was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati and has been married to Mary Jo for 30 years.  They have two Children, Anna and Jacob.

    Patrick Thompson

    Nurtur Salon began in 2006 at their current Lane Avenue location with less than 15 employees and a dream. Patrick Thompson, owner of Nurtur Salon as well as several Aveda Institutes (most notably Aveda Institute of Columbus) had a vision to deliver an unparalleled experience in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment. Nurtur Salon still strives (and excels) at this cultural mission to this day, even with three salon locations and 100 employees.  In 2012 Nurtur expanded from their original Upper Arlington location into a second location in the Grandview community with enormous success. In October 2015, Nurtur expanded into a third location in the Brewery District. In addition to this growth, Nurtur is proud to celebrate its tenth consecutive years as one of Salon Today Magazine’s Top 200 Salons. This speaks to their dedication to Nurtur’s team, guests, and community. With business growing at all their locations and their reputation in the beauty industry going strong, Nurtur has set their sights on a goal to open more salons in Columbus!

    Pete DeLois

    Pete DeLois is a family man through and through.  When he opened Recreations Outlet in 1989, it was with the intention of bringing joy to the families in his community.  For the past 30 years, Pete and his team at Rec Outlet have been hard at working building fun all over Ohio and the surrounding areas.  By specializing in only the highest quality wooden swing sets, top of the line basketball goals, and the safest trampolines on the market, customers know they can trust the expertise of the Rec Outlet team.

    Pete graduated from Kent State University in 1983 with a degree in Criminal Justice.  Prior to opening Recreations Outlet, he owned Invisible Fence of Cincinnati and Columbus from 1983 to 1995.  He loves baseball, racquetball, and all things food, but his passion will always be for his family.

    “Now that your kids have finished their school year (albeit most unusual!), you’re likely cleaning out papers, book bags, etc. If you have gently used required reading books that are not likely to be read again, please consider donating them to LIFE for our August Student LIFE Shop event–they’ll be added to the age-appropriate backpacks and supplies. Donations can be dropped at any time to the bins inside the glass doors at the side entrance of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, or to the donation entrance at the Pantry (back of the church by the preschool ramp) during open hours (Th: 3-6:30, Sat. 9-12:30). Thanks for sharing the love of reading with our kids!”

    Loveland Legacy Foundation Aims to Give Back to Local Businesses and Their Employees!

    Loveland, Ohio – The COVID-19 outbreak has been devastating for many people around the world. Those who own or are employed by small businesses have been some of the individuals that have been hit the hardest by this crisis. Both The City of Loveland and The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance (LMRCA) recognized that these businesses and their employees needed assistance so they came together and created a game plan. Saturday, President of LMRCA Cee-Cee Collins released a statement announcing that the Loveland Legacy Foundation would be assisting area businesses affected by closing and lay-offs due to the COVID-19 virus restrictions. This, of course, is another prime example of what the “Sweetheart of Ohio” is all about! Below is a statement from President Cee-Cee Collins on just what the Loveland Legacy Foundation will be doing for Loveland’s local businesses and employees.

    “Many businesses in the Loveland, Ohio area have had to either close their doors at this time or lay off several employees in order to stay open. Many continue to fight to stay open to serve us.

    The Loveland Legacy Foundation whose main purpose is to improve the Loveland community plan to offer assistance to area businesses.  President, Steve Max, shared, “this type of crisis is what our organization was created for! We want to help our smaller businesses survive this crisis and come back strong when it passes.”

    We are asking the community at large to give where they are able. Gift cards are being accepted to help unemployed workers bridge the gap. Consider a gift card from an area business or store where they can obtain the resources they may be lacking.     Gift cards can be dropped off to Alley Boutique located in Historic Downtown Loveland, Ohio: 210 West Loveland, Ohio. (drop cards in the secure mailbox next to the flagpole), or to the Little Miami River Chamber of Commerce: 425 West Loveland Avenue mailbox.

    Loveland Legacy Foundation is also asking for monetary donations to help both business owners who may help with rent or supplies to stay open. Please make donations directly to Loveland Legacy Foundation; www.Lovelandlegacyfoundation.org.

    Loveland area businesses need us all at this time. They are the fabric of our community and have always been generous to all of us, it’s time for US to give to them.  Thank you!”
