Loveland, Ohio – “You truly won’t believe the amazing nutcrackers that our Loveland artists have created. There are more than 50 truly unique works of art,” says President of the Art League of Loveland, Johanna Kremer. “We’ve highlighted several of our premier artists and their pieces, such as Tom Post’s Leonardo DaVinci “Prepping Supper”.

Teresa Nieberding donated all these vintage nutcrackers to the artists to unleash their creativity in memory of a dear artist friend of hers who shared a love of nutcrackers. When her friend died, she bequeather all her unfinished nutcrackers, and this is Teresa’s way of “paying it forward.”
Some of the artists are also holding Nutcracker classes during this holiday art show. Kremer said, “The classes will be taught by some of our best artists.”

Loveland, Ohio – The Scripps Network proclaims, “The siren is sounding for the fentanyl crisis.” Acclaimed journalist Caren Zucker speaks with educators, law enforcement officials and family members of those lost to the drug and tries to answer the obvious question: what can we do to help end the fentanyl crisis in America?
Loveland resident Stephanie Quehl of DOITFORJACK was invited to Atlanta to participate in a fentanyl awareness production with the Scripps Network.
Producer Caren Zucker, who lost her son Jonah to fentanyl, along with former ABC White House Correspondent John Donvan, and ABC News Executive Producer Jon Meyersohn, pulled together a group of individuals from around the country in the fentanyl awareness community to participate in a conversation about this critical topic.
Stephanie Quehl lost her son to a fentanyl poisoning.
This production is an informative and poignant presentation of how fentanyl impacts everyone. Please take the time to watch “To Save A Life: A National Fentanyl Alarm.”

by Claire Mirkowski-Purdy
Loveland, Ohio – Payton Brown, Caitlyn Ferrer, and Macy Steiner are ready to take on Team CoUREage 6.0 and make it the best year yet! After last year’s Team CoUREage 5.0’s amazing successes, the young women are ready to help put an end to blood cancer.
Caitlyn is very immersed in science and math and would love to make this part of her career once this year is over. Payton and Macy are also very interested in helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) once Team CoUREage 6.0 is over as well.
Team CoUREage is a campaign run by high schoolers to help fund LLS research. The campaign has been run for six years, and any donation given to this year’s campaign will be given to crucial blood cancer research as well as anyone currently affected with blood cancer.
This year’s LLS campaign has many diverting events planned in Loveland and Loveland High School such as give-back nights, bake sales, auctions, and much more. All are welcome to attend.
As of right now, before the campaign has launched, Payton, Caitlyn, and Macy have networked locally and have helped prepare current members of the team for the campaign’s launching. Once the 7-week campaign has launched, they will reach out to any local businesses for more fundraising opportunities.
If you are interested in taking action now to help Team CoUREage 6.0, you can use your Kroger rewards account to do so. Kroger will give a portion of their profit off your bill to LLS. If you’re using a desktop computer: go to kroger.com, log in, and scroll down to community rewards. Type: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Soc. Team CoUREage 6.0 or enter AQ467 to add the team to your rewards. If you’re using the mobile Kroger app: open the app, log in, click on the top right three lines, scroll down to rewards, click on community rewards, and then find the Team CoUREage 6.0 organization.
The LLS campaign starts on January 23rd. Every money collection deadline is March 13th and the money collection finale is March 14th.

Oxford, Ohio (Nov. 1, 2024) – Miami University students fielded a survey of Ohio voters from Oct. 28-30. The results show tight races. Donald Trump leads Kamala Harris 49% to 46% among registered voters in the presidential race, while Sherrod Brown leads Bernie Moreno 48% to 46% in the senate race. Issue 1 also remains close with the Yes vote leading the No vote 46% to 45% with a large number of voters (9%) reporting that they are still not sure. The margin of error (which does not account for error from sampling coverage or survey language) is 5%.
The survey was fielded by the students using a text-to-web modality. The students texted a random sample of registered voters in Ohio. The results were weighted to Ohio registered voters using education (3 categories) by sex, race (white/non-white) by sex, age (3 categories), vote history, and party registration. The latter two variables were taken from L2 voter file data.
The tables below show the results for all registered voters and then the subset of voters that reported that they either had already voted or definitely would vote.
The survey was supported by the Menard Family Center for Democracy and the Center for Career Exploration and Success at Miami University.
