    Columbus, Ohio – The Loveland High School Women’s Track and Field team sent 3 athletes to represent the Tigers at the OHSAA State Track and Field Tournament in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend. Miya Brines, Jordan Morrison, and Kaitlyn Andrews raced their way into the state tournament after placing 5th at the Regional Tournament in the 100-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles, and the 200-meter dash.

    The school held a state tournament send off for Brines, Morrison, and Andrews Friday afternoon. Students, staff and family members showed their love and support for the Lady Tigers in a confetti-covered Loveland High School Fitness Center. Students held up whole made signs and “made some noise” as the 3 track stars enjoyed cookies and words of encouragement from peers, teachers, and coaches.     The three Tigers made their way to the Jesse Owens Stadium at The Ohio State University and competed in their preliminary races on Friday evening.

    Miya Brines, the Tiger’s 100-meter hurdler, ran an outstanding race and not only shattered the school record with a time of 14.72 seconds but also qualified for finals with a 6th place finish. Brines qualifying finish was also her personal best time for the season in the 100-meter hurdles. The previous record for the 100-meter hurdles was held by Gabby Dierling in 2016 with a time of 14.90 seconds.

    Kaitlyn Andrews, who ran a personal best time of 25.06 seconds to qualify to compete in the 200-meter dash, was not able to participate due to an injury she sustained right before the meet.

    Jordan Morrison, who qualified for the 300-meter hurdle state prelims with a personal best time of 45.37, finished her season strong at the state meet running a 46.78. Check out the tweet from one of the many Loveland track supporters that were at the state meet Friday.

    On Saturday Brines made her way down to the track to compete in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles. Brines finished the race with a 14.70, beating her school record and her personal best time. Brines earned a 4th place finish qualifying her to medal on the podium! Those who came to watch the Lady Tigers compete celebrated Brines accolades through tweets on Saturday.     Loveland, Ohio – The Spring Sports season at Loveland High School is nearing a close. Here is a recap and continuing play for each team.

    Men’s Tennis

    Sectionals took place on May 7th at the ATP (Lindner Tennis Center). Advancing from Sectionals to Districts are Senior Captain, Matt Huether and Junior, Alex Ditchen in Men’s Doubles.  Sophomore, Connor Ruble, has a District qualifying match this Friday, 5/10, versus Fairfield. District seeding matches will take place on Saturday, 5/11 at the ATP at 8:30 AM.

    Men’s Baseball

    Baseball hosts Hamilton on May 14th in their First Round Sectional matchup. The team currently sits at 10-11 (5-8 in the ECC) but have won 7 of their last 8 games.

    Women’s Fastpitch

    Fastpitch currently sits at 4-19 (3-9 in the ECC) and look to close out the season strong. They are led by Junior, Katelyn Kramer who is hitting .462 with 5 home runs.

    Track

    Both Men’s and Women’s Track have their ECC Conference meet tomorrow, 5/8 and Friday, 5/10 at Anderson. Loveland looks to win the ECC Championship for the first time since 2017 (Men’s) and for the first time as a program (Women’s).     Men’s Lacrosse

    Men’s Lacrosse currently sit at 4-11 (2-2 in the ECC) and have won 2 of their last 4 games. They are currently tied with Turpin for 3rd in the ECC.

    Women’s Lacrosse

    Women’s Lacrosse currently sit at 10-2 (3-1 in the ECC) and have won 8 of their last 9 games. They currently sit in 2nd in the ECC and look to finish off their regular season on a strong note.

    Loveland, Ohio – On April 17 five Loveland student-athletes signed their National Letter of Intent to play their sport beyond the high school level.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Spring Sports season at Loveland High School is off and running. Traditionally Loveland has had a lot of success in the spring and they look to continue with that success this year. Loveland currently leads by 2 points over Turpin in the All Sports Trophy standings and with each sport being worth 9 points, every point and every sport matters.

    3/31/19 – Update:

    The Men’s Baseball team is currently 2-2 (0-0 in the ECC), Women’s Softball team, 1-3 (0-0 in the ECC), Women’s Lacrosse, 2-1 (1-0 in the ECC), Men’s Lacrosse, 1-2 (1-0 in the ECC), and Men’s Tennis, 0-0 but tied 2-2 in their scrimmage against the number four team in the state (Sycamore).

    This is a big week for sport’s around Loveland as with the end of spring break comes the start of conference play for most sports. Upcoming events this week by day include:

    Loveland currently sits 2 points ahead of Turpin in the All Sports Trophy standings and looks to bring home their 5th All Sports Trophy in seven years.

    4/3/19 – Update:

    Men’s Baseball: Currently, 2-3 (0-1 in the ECC).  The next game is Friday, 4/5 versus Kings at 5:00 PM at home. The team is led by Senior, Zach Segal who has an ERA of 1.56 and has struck out 14 in 9.0 innings pitched.

    Women’s Softball: Currently, 1-4 (0-1 in the ECC).  The next game is versus Taylor on Thursday, 4/4 at 5:00 PM. The team is led by Junior, Katlyn Kramer who is hitting .529 with 4 Home Runs, 1 Double, and 8 RBI’s.

    Men’s Tennis: Currently, 2-0 (1-0 in the ECC), the next match is versus Elder on Thursday, 4/4 at 4:00 PM. The team boasts a lot of experience and looks to bring home an ECC Championship this season.

    Men’s Lacrosse: Currently, 1-3 (1-0 in the ECC), the next game is at Dublin Coffman on Saturday, 4/6. The team is led by Senior, Fitz Dwyer who has 10 goals and 6 assists in 4 games.

    Women’s Lacrosse: Currently, 2-2 (1-1 in the ECC).  The next game is versus Ursuline at 7:00 PM. The team is led by Senior Frannie Cornett and Sophomores Babs Dwyer and Hannah Wenger.

    All of the Spring sports teams look to do their best to win an ECC Championship home and represent their school with respect, responsibility, integrity, and pride.

    Loveland, Ohio – While Cassie Mattia and I were visiting Mosaic Climbing last month to videotape her climbing for the first time, she spotted a group of experienced climbers as we were about to leave. We stopped and asked Jesse Belton*, Tanner Wilson, and Carter and Jack Brown what they thought about the new rock climbing facility in Loveland and about their own climbing experience. The four had traveled down from Miamisburg for Mosaic Climbing’s grand opening.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Spring sports season at Loveland High School is underway. Loveland High School is looking to continue its ongoing success of this year into another ECC All Sports Trophy.

    Last spring Loveland took home 3 ECC Championships in Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Baseball. This sports season Loveland looks to up that total.

    Men’s Tennis

    Return starters this season include Connor Ruble (SO), Sam Greenberg (JR), Alex Ditchen (JR), Matt Huether (SR), Ethan Libby (SO), and Cameron Smith (SR). After finishing 2nd in the ECC last year, the team looks primed to try and win an ECC Championship.

    Women’s Softball

    Return starters include Taylor Owens (SR), Ally Batsch (JR), Katlyn Krmaer (JR), Isabel Vuyk (JR), and Olivia Kenyon (JR). The team also returns their number one pitcher, Livia McClellan (JR) who had 54 strikeouts over 90 innings pitched last season.

    Men’s Baseball

    Returning starters include Carson Deer (JR), Spencer Rodriguez (SO), Matt Wesley (SR), Ian Cox (JR) as well as their number one pitcher, Zach Segal (SR) who had 63 strikeouts in 50 innings pitched. Zach also boasted a 1.12 ERA, a 6-2 record, and a whip of 1.10 last season.

    All Sports Trophy

    Loveland is currently up two points in the All Sports Trophy standings over Turpin (112.5 to 110.5). Loveland teams looking to win the ECC for consecutive years this season are Men’s Baseball (would be their 4th straight ECC Championship), Men’s Lacrosse (would be their 3rd straight ECC Championship), and Women’s Lacrosse (would be their 3rd straight ECC Championship).

    Some recent Loveland High School sporting events include:

    • Loveland Men’s Baseball team started off their season with a scrimmage at Elder where they tied 5-5.

    • Loveland Men’s Lacrosse team opening their season against Sycamore where they fell 11-6.

    • Loveland Women’s Lacrosse team opening up with scrimmages against Ursuline Academy and Lakota West, both of which Loveland won.

    It was great seeing so many alumni players back on the “Dave” and hopefully, this will be a nice Tigers vs. Tigers exhibition event for years to come.

    Mike Wagner who played outfield and pitched an inning “won” the prize for most veteran Tiger who played in the game.

    Run Like a Tiger 5K on April 20

    Please join us for the 2nd Run Like a Tiger 5K on Saturday, April 20th at 5PM. The event will start and finish at Nisbet Park and the course is on the Loveland Bike Trail.

    All ages and abilities are welcome as this is a family friendly race. We will have prizes for male and female age group winners and also have a raffle for some fabulous prizes.

    All proceeds go to the Loveland Middle/Intermediate Schools PTSA to further support mental and emotional health programs.

    Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland Men’s and Women’s High School Bowling teams are having memorable seasons. Both teams are in the Top 3 in the ECC and have been led by a mix of experience and newcomers. Both look to continue their success that they have had this season and turn it into a potential ECC Championship.

    The Loveland Men’s Bowling team currently sits at 10-4 overall (7-3 Conference) and is in 3rd place in the ECC behind West Clermont (7-0) and Kings (5-2). Loveland is led by Freshman, Alton French, who is averaging 189.4 Pins per game. Alton has a Game High of 242 Pins and a series high of 441. The team has no Seniors this year, so they are led by the experience of Junior, Matthew Rychlik, who is averaging 180.6 Pins per game. Matthew has a game high of 217 pins and a series high of 406.

    The Loveland Women’s Bowling team currently sits at 10-4 overall (8-2 Conference) and is in 2nd place in the ECC behind West Clermont (7-0). Loveland is led by Senior Maria Reich, and Junior, Grady Pettit. Maria is having a great season and leading the Loveland team by averaging 154.2 pins per game. Maria has a game high of 182 pins and a series high of 346. Grady is averaging 152.5 pins per game, Grady has a game high of 200 pins and a series high of 386.
