LOVELAND, OHIO – To Die In Arms wants to save a Loveland warehouse as a local venue for music. They play a variety of music from flowing melodies to hardcore breakdowns. The line-up consists of Andrew Lynch (guitar), Max O’Connell (guitar), Blake Hawk (drums), Joel Mueller (Bass), vocalist Jamie Trett and the newest addition Peter Weisgerber on the keyboard. To Die In Arms formed in late august of ’05 and has progressed a lot since then with two line-up changes, slight style changes, and now they are working on their first EP entitled “Your Eyes” set to come out mid to late march. New songs from the upcoming release will be up soon. Their tee-shirts are for sale at Badboards in the Cincinnati Mills mall.
On May 20 they organized a benefit concert to save a local warehouse in Loveland.
The “Warehouse” as it is called by the local crowd is located behind the buZZthru Espresso Bar on Loveland Madeira Road. Its history is of an outlet for automobile racing tires, but recently stored many racing cars.
Lynch said that the idea to save the warehouse was a group idea. “We have been practicing at the warehouse for awhile now, and when we were told that it was going to be torn down to make office space, we were a little bummed out.” He said the band got to talking, and the group decided that it would be a good idea to try and make it a venue for local music. “But the only problem, was that the land owner was going to tear it down in a few months.”
White_lininLynch said they came up with the idea to have a benefit show to try and raise money to hopefully pay the rent to keep the building from the wreaking ball, and turn it into a venue to bring some national musical acts through Loveland. “Another reason why we really want to do this is because we live in an area where you have to drive a pretty good distance to go to shows, the nearest one probably being The Underground, which is near Cincinnati Mills.”
“We raised over $700.00, which it seems that everyone that was involved with the benefit was very happy.” Lynch said that the money will go towards keeping the Warehouse open if the landowner agrees. “We’ve also decided that if the landowner says no, we will take the money and try to find another local place that is vacant and try to rent that out.”
To Die In Arms has a web site: www.myspace.com/todieinarms. Lynch and Hawk are Juniors at Loveland High School. O’Connell is currently out of High School and going to college next year. Trett currently works at a hospital, and Weisgerber works at Bad Boards, and is a freelance graphic designer, and photographer. Muller goes to school at Northern Kentucky University and works at a veterinary hospital.
Lynch estimates there were in between 100-150 people at the benefit show.
